~Nyla’s POV~
I take a deep breath and walk toward the door. I unlock the bolt and push it open.
“Hi, how may I help you?” I ask politely, standing firmly in front of the doorway.
Selene brushes past me and steps inside. I stagger backward, the back of my arm scraping against the metal door.
I clutch my arm in pain. “You could’ve just told me you wanted to come in,” I snap, irritation already building up in my voice.
She turns to me, her eyes scanning me from head to toe. “Well, if you’d been polite enough to let me in, I wouldn’t have had to do that.”
I scoff. Who does she think she is?
‘Nyla, calm down. She’s trying to get under your skin. Don’t let her,’ Mira whispers in my mind.
‘Remember, we just got here. The mission is the priority.’
I release my hands from the small injury
