My nose stung. Even after suffering so much injustice because of me, Elise was still thinking of me at a time like this.

"Anyway, right now you are still Lucian's mate, and Lara is a homewrecker in every sense of the word. If we actually sent Brad to prison, Lara would have even more of an excuse to not rest in the hospital and run back to the packhouse to cling to Lucian. Did you see the way she suddenly threw a fit and screamed today... Talk about a convincing performance. I don't believe for a second that she actually has any serious illness; it's all an act put on for Lucian to see."
