CHAPTER 11

Chapter 11 Leon’s jaw was clenched, and his fists were balled tight, yet something held him back from confronting the scene unfolding right before his eyes. Instead, he stepped back and walked away from the spot. At the same moment, Hailey quickly pulled away, still taken aback by what Harvey had just done. When she looked back at him, he had a playful smile on his lips. She wanted to ask why he’d done that, but no words came out of her mouth. “Just think of it as a farewell kiss from a close friend,” the man said. After speaking, he placed his palm on top of Hailey’s head and ruffled her hair, deliberately messing it up a bit, then turned and left with his hands tucked in his pockets. Hailey remained standing there, head bowed, her chest filled with unease. Hailey stood there, trying to shake off her shock and compose herself. It was true enough that she hardly knew Harvey; all she really knew was that he was Leon’s cousin. There were times she felt uneasy around him, especially with the way he looked at her, yet she never felt truly threatened—somehow, she didn’t think he was a bad person. Hailey shook her head as if trying to physically clear her mind, then decided to head back inside the mansion. Before climbing the stairs, she glanced all around, hoping to catch sight of Rose, whom she hadn’t seen all day. When she found no trace of her, she simply went up the stairs and returned to her room. Little did she know, the night was only just beginning, and much more awaited her the moment she stepped inside. The moment she opened the door, and before she could even step inside, a heavy feeling suddenly washed over her, and a sudden fear flared in her chest. The lights were off, and a cold breeze instantly hit her from within the room, carrying a masculine scent of cedarwood that was all too familiar to her senses. Before she could even process what was happening, strong hands grabbed her arms and threw her onto the bed with effortless force. Though the room was dark, the moonlight streaming through the open window made Leon’s figure clear to her eyes. Her eyes went wide as she struggled to recover from the impact. She managed to prop herself up on her elbows, but fear had seemingly paralyzed her entire being, leaving her unable to move or escape from where she lay. She heard the click of the door being locked, then watched as Leon walked steadily toward her. His face was devoid of any emotion, and his eyes seemed to glow with a burning blue hue whenever the light touched them. "L-Leon, what—?" She never even got to finish her question. In one swift, predatory movement, Leon knelt onto the bed, his knees locking tightly on either side of her, trapping her completely beneath him. He closed the distance between them until there was barely an inch of space left, lowering his face so close that their skin nearly brushed against each other’s. Hailey instantly pressed both palms against his chest, desperate to push him away and create even the smallest gap between their bodies. But Leon was faster—he seized her wrists in a crushing grip, dragged them up above her head, and held them pinned there, immovable. "How dare you… act so intimate with another man," he growled, his voice low, rough, and vibrating with suppressed fury. "It wasn’t enough that you flaunted yourself in front of everyone… you even let him kiss you!" His words were harsh, whispered right against her face with terrifying intensity. She felt every hot breath he exhaled fan across her skin, making her eyes flutter shut in fear and an overwhelming sensation. Then, he released one of her wrists. His hand slid down, cupping firmly under her jaw and chin, gripping it tight as he forced her face upward—forcing her to look straight into his eyes. "A—And what exactly are you talking about?" Hailey’s voice cracked, barely audible, as she struggled to draw breath—Leon’s hand clamped tight around her throat, cutting off her air. She writhed and fought against his grip with everything she had, but her frail strength was nothing compared to his, especially not when his eyes burned with unbridled rage. "What? Are you actually going to deny it now?!" Leon thundered—his shout, raw and sharp, meant only for her ears. Then he suddenly let go, and Hailey gasped desperately, sucking in great gulps of air as her body shook violently. She scrambled backward across the bed until her back hit the hard headboard, tears streaming freely down her face and terror clawing at her chest. Yet through it all, she never once looked away from him—from where he stood at the foot of the bed, watching her intently. Slowly, deliberately, he began undoing the buttons of his shirt one by one, his gaze never wavering from hers. He didn’t bother finishing the task; instead, he climbed back onto the bed and reached for her arm. Hailey fought and twisted away, but it was useless—he caught her anyway, dragging her toward him by her ankles. Instantly, she tried to scream, but he slammed one large hand hard over her mouth, muffling every sound. "Do you want the whole pack to hear you?" he breathed, his voice dropping to a low, dangerous whisper as he lowered his head right beside her ear. Hailey sobbed, her tears held back only by the overwhelming fear gripping her chest. In the end, she surrendered completely to Leon’s will. She braced herself, stealing her heart for the worst possible outcome that this night could bring, until he lifted her up in his arms and carried her toward the bathroom. He placed her gently into the bathtub, filling it with cold water that sent shivers racing through her skin, and soon enough, he began to wash every inch of her body himself. No trace of embarrassment remained as he stripped her bare—there was no point in feeling shame anymore; she was entirely helpless. The moment the freezing water touched her skin, it was as though her whole being turned instantly numb, deadened to everything around her. She had no idea what Leon planned to do with her next. All she could do was weep silently, endless tears spilling from her eyes as despair swallowed her whole. "He left his scent all over you… it’s absolutely revolting," he muttered fiercely under his breath, his hands moving with relentless purpose over her skin. Leon touched every part of her, scrubbing and cleansing her thoroughly, determined to erase every trace of another man’s touch. Eventually, he wrapped her trembling body in a fresh, clean towel, lifted her once more, and carried her back to the bed.
