Chapter Four: A One-Night Stand

“Let me go! No, don’t touch me, let me go!” The scream came from a dark room, with its only source of light emitting from a small lamp on the bedside table. Quick anxious footsteps can be heard approaching the room, the owner sat on the bed and placed a hand on Reina as she screamed.

“Calm down miss, you are in safe hands,” Reina screamed louder, throwing her head hard on the bedpost as she fought to free herself from unseen danger. “Miss, please wake up, you will get hurt, wake up.” This didn’t help and a shadowy figure walked forward, reaching down to touch the frightened Reina on the bed.

“She’s running a fever, hurry, call the Alpha.” The first woman instructed, panicked by the sight before her. “Tell him it's about the lady he brought here last night. Go quickly.” She knew damn well that in her years as a healer wolf, there are scars inflicted deeply on people that she can’t heal even with her experience. The woman in front of her was tormented by something she couldn’t place her hand on but she knew it was personal and perhaps not something one could see physically.

Only the Alpha can help. A few seconds later, a distraught-looking man appeared through the door, he lingered for a brief moment then took long powerful strides to the erratic Reina on the king-sized bed. His bed. The woman stood up, bowing quickly to him she switched her gaze from him to Reina then back to him again.

“She is running a fever.”

“I know. Mara told me.” He placed his hand on her shaking body as she convulsed, muttering incoherent words.

“Leave.” Stunned by his order because if there is anyone who can help, it's Emerald the pack’s healer wolf.

Emerald eyed him curiously. “Are you sure? I can be of help.” She informed, hiding her worry with a casual tone.

“It’s okay, I will take it from here.” Emerald stayed a little longer, hoping he changed his mind, but the Alpha only grew impatient. He turned to her, growling deeply, enough to startle her and send her on her way out.

Aries looked at Reina in his bed, muttering a curse, he scooped her with his hands with one smooth movement and cradled her in his arms, feeling her temperature return to normal with each second that passed. She was calm but looked like she had fallen asleep again. Her long locks covered her face, and he used a free hand to brush them away, tucking them behind her ear.

His body shuddered lightly as he made contact with her soft velvet skin. His wolf growled, desperate to be released. He wanted her. He wanted to claim her.

His heart burned as he looked at her, upset by the trouble she had faced the night before and what seemed like a nightmare that had disrupted her mind and sleep. He felt instant anger and the need to protect his mate grew stronger it made him dizzy.

Kiara had been so foolish to have attacked an innocent woman in the woods and if she wasn’t a part of his pack, he knew she’d be dead for laying her hands on Reina. His Reina.

“Aries?” Her eyes blinked rapidly as they tried to adjust to the darkness and the man holding her in a bear hug.

Aries was lost in his thoughts he had missed the part where she woke up.

He smiled softly at her. “Someone had a nightmare.” Reina flinched at his words but also at the memory of her dream, something she was getting used to for months now.

She dragged her eyes to his lips as they moved, her heart pounded fast and heavy, leaving her breathless with the thought of what his lips could do to her. Her face felt hair and she realized that he was shirtless just like the first day they had met.

“You are staring.” Aries teased, stroking her lips with his thumb.

Reina tried to protest but he interrupted. “God, you are beautiful, my love.”

Reina’s face darkened with slight anger and a deep wave of se*ual energy, she was turned on and pissed at the same time. “Don’t call me that.” She murmured.

Aries let out an arrogant chuckle and his wolf grew restless because of her stubbornness, making him crave her more. With no prior warning, he crushed his lips on hers and kissed them so hard he was worried she’d bruise but not worried enough to pull away. Reina who had been taken by surprise, slowly accepted him, letting him drink from her greedily.

Feeling his hard-on painfully bulging through his jeans, he placed Reina on the gigantic bed and rested on his elbows to restrain him from crushing her with his weight. His vision was blurry, but he realized that his jeans were on the floor and he had her naked under him. Ready. He kissed her again, but this time he took his time, taking whatever he could find as he made love to her with his tongue.

F*ck, she drove him insane. He felt her love mound with his palm, and she gasped, digging her nails into his arms. She was wet and inviting. He shifted comfortably till he was in the right position.

“Aries, I…I’ve not done this before.” She looked away, but he caught her face in his palm.

“Look at me, Reina.” He growled, keeping her eyes on his. “I will be gentle.”

He thrust slowly, a groan escaped his lips but he waited to hear a protest but she only winced and grimaced a little. He felt his fangs protrude from his gum and he shook his head to keep his wolf still. I can’t scare her like this.

“Oh, Aries.” Reina moaned softly as she adjusted to the feeling of him inside her. Filling her. That was all it took to send his mind off from reality. His human side couldn’t resist anymore, and he pulled out, then slammed it inside her, grabbing her hips to meet his thrusts.

Reina moaned loudly as she kept ascending into a space that she was very unfamiliar with. It felt so good that she grabbed the sheet tightly.

“I’m sorry, baby.” He leaned down and kissed her as he thrust gently, feeling her moan in his mouth.

“You are mine. Only mine.” She screamed with eyes wide open but couldn’t see anything except stars—millions of them—as she reached the space she was ascending to. Her orgasm was hard and intense. Her grip on him tightened, and Aries went insane. He was close, and her mound squeezing him was too much. He released a loud, deep growl and dug his fangs into her neck, almost marking her, but it wasn’t a full moon, so he knew the love bond wouldn’t work.

Reina was so lost in her pleasure that she didn’t feel the sting from the bite or the blood that seeped out of the tiny wound.

There was a gut-wrenching scream outside the house, and Aries cursed under his breath. Of all times, now?
