The days passed peacefully, and the friendship between Ethan and Sophia continued to grow. They attended lectures together, studied in the library, and often walked across the campus discussing everything from business ideas to their dreams for the future.
It wasn't long before people began to notice.
Some classmates smiled whenever they saw them together.
Others jokingly called them "the business partners."
Neither Ethan nor Sophia paid much attention to the comments. To them, they were simply good friends who enjoyed each other's company.
One Saturday afternoon, Sophia and her roommate, Amira, were relaxing in their hostel after completing a difficult assignment.
Amira lay comfortably on her bed, flipping through a magazine, while Sophia sat by the window reading a novel.
The room was unusually quiet.
Finally, Amira closed the magazine and looked at Sophia with a mischievous smile.
"Sophia..."
"Hmm?" Sophia replied without looking up.
"Can I ask you something?"
Sophia smiled.
"Since when have you needed permission?"
Amira laughed.
"Fair enough."
She sat upright and folded her arms.Could there really be something more than friendship growing between her and Ethan?
She didn't have an answer.
But deep within her heart, she knew one thing.
Whenever Ethan was around, she felt a peace she couldn't explain.
And perhaps...
That meant something after all.
