As much as I wanted to be alone with Maliyah and talk to her about everything that kept me up all night, I didn’t want Gabriella with the kids, not after I realized that her intentions weren’t pure towards them.
She was suing the kids to stick around, and it wouldn’t be fair to the kids and Maliyah if I let this go on.
So I stood up for what was right, but that only seemed to annoy not only the kids but Maliyah as well. While the kids were subtle about their disappointment, Maliyah wasn’t. She turned cold as ice as soon as Gabriella left the room to join Sara in her quarters.
I noticed after I asked, “So are we ready to have fun together?”
I wish I could add, “As a family?” But we weren’t that, and even if we were, words would have failed me as Maliyah glared at me
