As soon as her cries hit my eardrums, the passion I was feeling initially as Rich’s lips fit perfectly against mine flushed itself out of my system. My eyes flew open, and I didn’t hesitate to push Rich off me.
What was I thinking? I should have checked on the kids the moment the turbulence stopped.
It should have been the first course of action, but I let myself be locked in a passionate daze with Rich.
Rich groaned, but I ignored him and jumped to my feet just as Madison entered this section of the plane with seats that were much more comfortable and bigger than those of a commercial plane.
“Hey. Maddie.” I uttered softly, catching my daughter as she ran into my arms with tears in her eyes. “It’s okay, baby. Everything is okay.”
