“Okay, I understand,” Eryx said calmly.
“Fine,” the priestess replied. She joined both hands together and began to chant words only she understood. Almost immediately, Eryx groaned. Luckily, the priestess had placed a towel in his mouth to stop him from screaming.
After a while, it became clear that the bond had been severed. Sweat rolled down both their foreheads, and they were breathing heavily. The priestess then instructed them to separate their hands.
Eryx collapsed to the ground with a heavy thud.
I gasped and rushed forward to help him, but the priestess stopped me.
“Leave him,” she said firmly. “This is normal. The separation is temporary, but I advise you to bring a healer to examine him and ensure he’s strong enough to embark on the journey. Otherwise, he may no
