OORT CLOUD—OORT STATION PRIME
Thorpe and Braxton sat in silence, contemplating what they both had just experienced. Finally, Thorpe broke the silence.
“We need to put the other uploads through the process, and we need to brief everyone else.”
“Agreed,” Braxton said. “It’s pretty overwhelming. The Oort, these beings, like us in so many ways, out here watching, waiting, living lives we really cannot understand, thinking thoughts beyond our comprehension.” Braxton touched Thorpe, merging briefly. “Let’s get the others,” he said. “Out here is where we should inform them about their heritage.”
The entire team assembled inside the habitat. Fredricks and his human crew floated comfortably in a circle near the center of the dome, the upload holoimages dispersed among them. M
