Chapter Eight SERVER SKY—BRAXTON Over the next several hours, Braxton moved out of his personal swarm into the geosynchronous swarm, making rapid excursions and then swiftly returning to and isolating his swarm. All the while, he remained on the lookout for the elusive tensors. He discovered two things. On the one hand, his personal swarm became increasingly confining. On the other, he found that he could range across the entire expanse of the nearby geosynchronous swarm at what amounted to lightspeed. He learned to spread himself out so that he occupied virtually the entire swarm, a very thin superimposed layer of consciousness that encompassed every thinsat in the swarm.
