Stephanie Cole

Marcus guides me down the hallway from the library and we soon reach a door that throws up pink. I scrunch my nose up and Marcus laughs at my expression. Marcus knocks at the door and Stephanie soon opens the door looking depressed.               “Yes? May I help you?”               I reach my hand out to her before Marcus says anything, “My name is Skylar. I will be your bodyguard for the time being until everything is settled.”               Stephanie slowly takes my hand and gives me a hesitant smile, “Youre a girl? I was expecting you to be a man! That’s a pleasant surprise! Can you take me shopping? I haven’t been able to go at all since this all started!”               “Maybe but we will have to plan it a head of time in order to make sure I am prepared for anything that might happen while we are out.”               Stephanie nods, “That’s doable. Do you like musicals?”               It was my turn to nod, “Yes, I used to when I was your age.”               I could feel Marcus slowly sneak down the hall, “I will let you two become aquanted.”               Stephanie opens her door and gestures me inside.                   We are soon watching Frozen. Once that was done, Stephanie takes the disc out and gets ready to insert Tangled.               “How old are you?”               “25” I answer.               “How did you get into the Blue Coats?”               “Long story. You would fall asleep hearing it.”               “So it was something that you always wanted to do? Is there anything else you had in mind?’               This kid is full of questions, “No it wasn’t something that I wanted. It was just something that was the only thing left for me. I wanted to be a singer when I was younger but I didn’t have any passion for it.”               “So you can sing?”               I nod.               I could almost see Stephanie vibrate with excitement, “Can you sing something for me?”               I thought for a second and decide to sing Let it go from Frozen since we just watched it.               At the end, Stephanie was clapping her hands, “That was amazing! I wish I could sing like you!”               I laugh and shake my head, “Come on, its probably time for dinner.”               Stephanie nods and gets up, “I hope that you stay for a longer time than the others.”               “The other bodyguards?”               Stephanie nods again, “They don’t last past a month. They either die or they quit from the hard work.”               I study Stephanie. She looks sad. Poor kid probably got attached to every single one of them, “Stephanie. You will find that it is very hard to get rid of me.”               She gives a doubtful smile before walking out her door with me following her.
