She lacked striking beauty, yet her voice filled every room. He sat alone in his study, the walls painted matte black, a chandelier casting long shadows overhead. “I find it tiresome when people monopolize a conversation,” he murmured to himself, a faint smile forming. “Vickie is no different. She has little idea of the situation she’s stepped into.” Taking to his feet, he walked toward the hallway, his expression unreadable. His little monster peeked through his shots in protest. .... Not dealing with Kelvin may not have been a huge achievement, but it was a step forward for her in her little clucthes. she thought about how aggressive he was with her body, sparking reflections on her journey and her relationship with her sister. She didn’t know the details of what weighed on her sister Eddie . She only knew one thing for certain —her sister was miserable here. And some truths she refused to speak aloud... She reached for her phone and dialed the one number she always trusted. Megan. Her best friend, her partner in crime, her dance partner since day one—the bond hadn’t changed with time or distance. The line clicked. “Hey, Meg?” “Vickie,” Megan answered softly. “I miss you. I didn’t even know you’d moved. We had dance class yesterday… the floor felt empty without you.” “I’m sorry, Meg,” she said, pacing the length of her bedroom. “It was an emergency. But I’ll make it up to you, I promise. I’ll be back soon—” A knock cut her off. “I’ll call you back. Someone’s at the door.” She crossed the room, hand trembling slightly, and pulled the door open. Only to find him standing there!. welcomed by his lustful eyes craving for someone to devour . " you!! what are you doing in my bedroom? or..are you also going to Agent in my bedroom as well, and why do you have that look in your eyes??. Kelvin ignored her , heading to her bathroom. Vickie's gaze still locked on him, her expression a mix of shock and curiosity as he shut the door behind him, not giving her a reason to comprehend. .... Something was off about him. No one forces their way into another person’s space like that. It wasn’t bold. It was a breach. … Vickie stayed by the bathroom door, silent, waiting for her chance to take back control. She wished Eddie could see this — the kind of people she was now living among, all because of her sister. ,, she pounded on the bathroom door, demanding he come out. ,, Kelvin? Get your ass out of my bathroom and don't get it messy. She wiggled the door handle in an attempt to open it .. “ I'm going to break this door , her patience wore thin as she knocked impatiently on the door , her voice rising in urgency. * why don't you break the door , I don't mind. He encouraged, emerging with his chest nothing more like a smooth surface with drips of water sliding down in each lines , with a flourishing scent emanating from him.. If you don't mind getting out of the way, I will be leaving now. With a wink , he strolled back out of the door , rendering her speechless… His voice cut through the door before it died out: “Don’t let that mouth hang open.” The warning lingered long after the sound stopped.. Vickie's jaw dropped, until he's departure broke the spell. .. She threw herself on the bed , picking up a pillow to hide her discomfort. Nickel said nothing. He just leaned on his car, eyes on her as she fought with her phone, desperate for a ride. “Hop in,” he told her finally. “Before I change my mind.” He could see it—the frustration, the inexperience. She wasn’t helpless, just unseasoned. Eddie kept her distance. “I don’t need your pity,” she said, voice flat. “Then what about your father’s debt?” he reminded her, quiet but deliberate. Her glare was answer enough. She stormed to the car and slid inside. “I thought as much,” he said, opening the driver’s side.
