Strawberries

1456 Words

L͟u͟k͟e͟ I watch as Lola giggles over a dumb video about cats fighting birds. Well... if it makes her smile, I'm all for it. I continue chopping vegetables for the salad we're making. I divide my focus between prepping dinner and keeping one eye on her. She's been more relaxed since she finally admitted she had feelings for Chase. She's usually happy. But there's an underlying uncertainty. She doesn't know how to talk to him about it. She doesn't want to outright call him, but also didn't want me to play wingman. I've been trying to find a way to get them together without being obvious. I place the veggies into a large bowl and move onto cutting up fruit. I focus on slicing my apples and placing them into a bowl of water mixed with lemon juice to keep them from turning brown.
