꧁Chapter Six꧂ He hadn't expected that Eleanor would be eavesdropping on them. Ian turned around to look at her and muttered as curtly as he could. "I don't know." in truth, he didn't. He had only sent her out of the pack, he didn't know where she left for. "What do you mean you don't know? She's your mate and you haven't seen her for half a day now." "Like I said Eleanor, I have no business knowing." Eleanor let out a gasp. He had never called her by her name before, he only called her mum but he might just as well start today. "Where did you keep my daughter?" Eleanor asked with rage now convinced that Ian had knowledge of where Kelly was. "What makes you think that I have her?" "It seems to me that you know where she is especially since you brought home that wench." She spat. "You call your own daughter a wench?" Ian asked in total disbelief. "What you brought home last night isn't my daughter but an instrument of destruction. The sooner you realize that, the better. I give you twenty four hours to provide my daughter or else Ian…" "Or else what?" Ian cut her off. No one dared talk to him like that and he had had more than he could take from Eleanor. "Or the wrath of the goddess shall be upon this pack." Eleanor concluded warning a gasp from Lucy who had been watching them silently all this while. Not wanting the situation to escalate farther than it already had, Lucy stepped forward and held Eleanor by her shoulder. "Maybe we should give her a call, right? What do you think?" Lucy suggested but she was ignored by both Ian and Eleanor. "No, tell your alpha to release her. It's evident he knows where she is." Eleanor spat with heated passion. "You're going too far Eleanor, much more than I could take and I wouldn't hesitate to punish you for this." Ian warned her sternly as he began to walk out of the living room. "Do all you want Ian." Eleanor spat back at him but he ignored her. He paused a moment later without looking back, He said, "No one in this pack shall have anything to do with that traitor." knowing the effect that his alpha command tone had on everyone in the pack. "Ian, Ian." Eleanor called him, disgust written all over her face. Ian made the 'mistake' of stopping as he heard her call his name. Then she slapped him. "You're a bastard Ian. I curse the day the goddess mated you to my baby." She wept. "Guards!" Ian barked spontaneously. "Take her to the dungeon." He ordered. He didn't care if she was the mother to his current mate, Eleanor had passed her limit and he would let her know the stuff he was made of. He heard her cries as she was being dragged away by the guards and one sentence he had caught. "This pack shall never know peace unless justice is served for my daughter." He couldn't let himself overthink it, her cries meant nothing, her cursed meant nothing and nothing would happen to the Ashen howl pack under his watch. He returned to his chambers and found Elyse who looked like she had witnessed all the events that unfolded downstairs. “I see you had a fight with my mother.” She said affirming his suspicions. “I’m sorry I had to lock her up.” He said. He didn’t feel sorry, he only felt the need to apologize to his new found mate. “It’s okay. She also didn’t seem happy about me finding my true mate. I guess they both planned it, mother and daughter.” She wipes a stray tear that had just fallen down her left cheek. “It’s alright Elly, we have each other now, okay and nothing is going to separate us.” He promised her. “And you’re never going to ignore me or think about Kelly like you did earlier?” She took the cue to hold him to his words now. “I swear I wasn’t thinking about her. I just felt a bit off.” He lied. Of course, he had been thinking about Kelly, how could he not be? She had been his mate for more than two years, that was something to think about. “You’re lying.” Elyse said to him. “I’m not. Is there anyway I can make it up to you?” He asked trying to divert the discussion away from that topic. “We could go out together.” He added. “To places like where?” “You would soon be my Luna. How about I take you on a shopping spree?” Ian suggested. Elyse oh’ed and ah’ed. “That would be nice. Let’s go to the human realm. I know they have much better stuff there.” “Alright dear, your wish is my command.” Their conversation was cut short by a knock that cane on the door. “Who is it?” Ian half growled, clearly frustrated by the interruption. “It’s Edgar. I would like to discuss something with you Alpha.” “If it’s about your mother then just leave. I won’t listen to any pleas.” He told his beta. He already knew Edgar was here for that. Nothing else and he only called him Alpha when he needed something from him. “Alph-“ “I would see you later Beta.” Ian cut the conversation short and turned his attention back to his Luna. “So, when do you say we do this shopping?” He asked as Elyse’s lips curved into a wide grin. ꧁꧁꧁꧁꧂꧂꧂꧂ "Come let me read your palm." The witch beckoned on her. "What for?" Kelly asked precautionarily. "It allows me to know if you would bring more or less sales to this store." the witch explained. "Oh" Kelly muttered. "Is that how you read all of your other employees palms?" She asked with curiousity. "Who told you I had other employees?" "I've heard stories." Kelly responded. "I see. I'm sure you must have heard that they don't stay here longer than a week?" the witch asked as she trailed a finger along the lines on Kelly's palm. "What I heard was four days but there must be a reason why this happens." Kelly raised an eyebrow seeking a response. The witch however placed Kelly's hands back on her laps and stood up, pulling her hooded cloak over her head. "I love that you're inquisitive but too much…" she trailed off and didn't speak again for quite a while. "But I'm sure you must have seen the reason yourself." "The fact that you are a witch?" Kelly deduced. "And the manner of customers that walk into my shop daily. Vampires, orgres, goblins. All of my previous employees were humans but seeing that you're a supernatural. I trust that you might break the jinx. How long would you like to work here?" Kelly thought about it for only a brief moment. "Say about a year." Kelly told her. "Before or after your journey to the vampire realm?" The witch asked leaving her in utter amazement. Kelly blinked severally as she wondered if she had mentioned a word about it to the witch. "I-i d-don't remember us discussing that." Kelly stuttered. The witch chuckled. "I saw everything when I read your palm." she explained. Kelly muttered a soft 'oh' "You have a tumultuous future ahead of you dear. I'm Hazel what's your name?" "You didn't see that one?" "I just thought it would be best if you said it yourself." Hazel chortled. "Kelly." "Nice meeting you." "Same here." Came Kelly's response.
