Scarlett's POV
Light.
My eyelashes fluttered. I frowned and groaned at the light hitting my face. It was faint at first, and I thought I could just ignore it and return to my dreamland, but it kept burning against my skin until I thought my face might get scorched if I didn't get up.
The first thing I did was raise my hand to block my face. However, my hand was so heavy that it almost made me question if I still had arms at all.
I let out a groan, air filling my lungs in a shaky breath. Then I felt the pain still lingering in my body—the dullness, the soreness. Yet, none of that compared to the hollow emptiness inside me. Memories of all the recent events rushed to my head, pouring through and making me frown from the pain.
