Gerald pulled on his clothes as fast as a man fighting for his life . Lily sat up in the bed, still half wrapped in the covers, watching him with wide eyes wondering what could possibly be going on. But knowing the world she currently lives in, it was definitely something bad.
“Stay inside,” Gerald said, his voice hard. “Do not leave the estate, not for anything or any reason, until I get back. You understand me?”
Lily nodded. “I understand.”
“I mean it. No walks. No calls that pull you outside these walls. My men will be on the gates. You stay put.”
“I said I understand.”
He held her gaze for a second longer, then left the room. Downstairs he barked orders. Four men from the estate grabbed their weapons and climbed into the vehicles with him.
