Despite having kicked Mother out, her negative words and presence still lingered in the house. If there was ever a better time to go out, it was now.
“Mika, I’m leaving” I called, deciding to visit the warehouses in near Dragon Soul.
“Certainly,” she replied, hurrying to the coat stand to fetch my jacket. She seemed a little meeker and demure than before Mother arrived and I didn’t blame her.
