Alessandro slammed the door of his car and stormed out to assess the damage. His eyes widened in horror as he took in the long, ugly dent on the front of his prized possession. This was his favorite car, a sleek and powerful machine that he had lovingly maintained and customized over the years.
He felt a surge of rage and frustration as he turned to search for the culprit who had caused this destruction. His eyes scanned the area, and then landed on a girl standing a few feet away, on the side of the road. She was whispering to her bicycle, her voice soft and soothing.
What the hell? Alex's eyes narrowed in incredulity. She was talking to her bicycle? Was she crazy?
"Hey!" Alex called out, his voice loud and angry. He waited for her to turn around, but she didn't seem to have heard him. He strode over to her, his long legs eating up the distance, and stood behind her, his fury radiating like a palpable force.
The girl still didn't turn around, seemingly oblivious to his presence. Alex's anger boiled over, and he reached out to tap her on the shoulder, his fingers brushing against her skin. "Hey, you!" he repeated, his voice low and menacing. "Turn around and face me!”
Alex stood frozen, watching as the cyclist glared at him with a mix of anger and frustration. "You almost killed me, mister!" she screamed, her voice echoing through the quiet street.
Alex raised an eyebrow, taken aback by her outburst. "Killed you? You ran into the road when the light was green, just popping out of nowhere. You could've been dead if I wasn't smart enough to swerve. And now, look at my car - it's damaged because of you!"
The cyclist's face turned red with rage. "Maybe you weren't smart enough, that's why your car got damaged," she shot back, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
As she walked up to her bicycle, she muttered under her breath about how her day was already ruined, and now someone had tried to kill her. Alex watched, incredulous, as she put on her helmet and prepared to leave.
"Hold up, you need to pay for the damage you caused to my car," Alex said, his voice firm but controlled.
The cyclist turned to him, her eyes flashing with anger. "Pay?! I didn't hit your car!"
Alex sighed inwardly, wondering how this conversation had gone so wrong. "You caused the damage," he explained patiently. "If we examine the situation, it's clear that you ran into the road without checking, and I had to swerve to avoid you."
The cyclist's face twisted in disdain. "No, you were driving, and if we both examine the situation, it was your fault," she snapped, her voice rising.
As she started to drive away, Alex felt his anger boil over. "Hey, come back here! We're not done discussing this!"
But she just kept going, leaving Alex standing alone on the sidewalk, fuming. What was wrong with her? He had just saved her life, and instead of a thank you, he got an attitude and blame.
Alex pulled out his phone and dialed Bruno's number. "Come pick me up," he growled, still seething with anger.
"Sir?" Bruno's voice was cautious on the other end of the line.
Alex didn't bother to explain. "You heard me," he snapped, and hung up the phone.
This was definitely not his day. First, he'd had a terrible morning, and now his favorite car had a huge dent in the front. And to top it all off, he'd had to deal with a crazy, ungrateful cyclist.
As he waited for Bruno to arrive, Alex couldn't help but wonder what else could go wrong.
A few minutes later, Bruno pulled up in his sleek black sedan, expertly maneuvering the vehicle to come to a stop right next to his boss. He had been able to locate Alex using the GPS tracker installed in his damaged car. As Bruno stepped out of the sedan, his eyes widened in surprise at the sight of Alex's car. The front bumper was severely dented, and the hood was crumpled beyond recognition.
"Sir?" Bruno said his voice laced with concern as he looked from the car to his boss. Alex's expression was grim, his jaw clenched in anger.
"Get it fixed," Alex said curtly, his voice low and even. He took the keys from Bruno and slid into the driver's seat of the sedan. Without another word, he started the engine and drove off, leaving Bruno standing alone on the sidewalk.
Bruno watched as the sedan disappeared into the distance, his mind racing with questions. What had happened? Alex was an excellent driver, one of the best he had ever seen. It was unlikely that he would be involved in an accident, especially not one that had caused this much damage.
As Bruno stood there, trying to make sense of the situation, he noticed something green on the ground. He walked over to investigate and picked up a small wallet. It was made of a soft, velvety material, and it felt light. Bruno opened the wallet, and his eyes landed on a driver's license. The license belonged to a young woman with long, curly brown hair and bright green eyes. Her name was Emilia Rogers.
Bruno's eyes narrowed as he pieced together the events of the accident. It was clear that Alex had been involved in a close call with this Emilia Rogers. The fact that there was no blood on the scene suggested that she was okay, but the damage to Alex's car indicated that it had been a harrowing experience.
Bruno tucked the wallet into his pocket, deciding to return it to its owner. He pulled out his phone and dialed the number of a tow truck, arranging for Alex's damaged car to be taken to a repair shop. As he waited for the tow truck to arrive, Bruno couldn't help but wonder what had really happened between Alex and Emilia.
Emilia had never been a girl to cause attention to herself or draw any attention at all, she had always liked to keep her life private and closed, she worked with her mother who owned a tiny cafe on the down floor of the building where she lives, she did deliveries for her mom, delivering cupcakes and sweets to customers all over town, and spreading her smile and glitter.
Her day had been going fine until she bumped into Kyle, Kyle was that guy who thinks the world belongs to him just because his father owns a few buildings and his mom was every man's dream, he was always hitting on her every chance he gets, she had told him no severally but he just kept coming back
“Hey Emil” Kyle said licking his lips as he eyes Emilia up and down
“Hello Kyle” Emilia said trying to sound nice even though she irritated by his voice alone
“Going for a delivery? I can drop you off you know” Kyle said taking a step towards her
“Thanks Kyle but am good, I gotta go now” Emilia said as she tried to pass him, because he had cornered her at a tight spot, so he moved back a little closer to his car and she needed to get to her bike, that way she'll get a head start, but seems like Kyle is extra pushy today
"Oh, come on, Emil, I won't bite," Kyle said, flashing his charming smile that made most girls blush as he leaned against his sleek sports car. "Besides, my car is way faster, and you'll get to the park in half the time. We can do something else with that extra time, like... grab a coffee or something." He licked his lips, his eyes roving over Emilia's curves.
Kyle had never been attracted to girls with a few extra pounds, but there was something about Emilia that drew him in. Maybe it was the way she always smelled like freshly baked cookies, or the way her curly brown hair bounced when she walked. Whatever it was, Kyle couldn't deny the spark of desire that had been growing inside him for weeks.
But Emilia was having none of it. She had already turned him down multiple times, and Kyle was starting to get frustrated. He imagined what it would be like to run his fingers through her hair, to sniff the sweet scent of her locks, to taste her lips... But Emilia's firm rejection brought him back to reality.
"I'm sure it is, Kyle, but I'm good today," Emilia said, her voice firm but polite. "My bike will get me to the park just fine. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm getting going." She tried to smile sweetly, but Kyle could see the hint of annoyance in her eyes.
Kyle sighed, feeling a pang of disappointment. He watched as Emilia climbed onto her bike and pedaled away, her curly hair bouncing behind her. He couldn't help but feel drawn to her, even as she rode off into the distance, leaving him standing alone by his car.
Emilia had always made a conscious effort to steer clear of Kyle, no matter where she went. There was something about his arrogant demeanor and the way he looked at her that made her skin crawl. She felt like he was undressing her with his eyes, and it left her with a lingering sense of discomfort. Ugh, just thinking about it made her shudder.
As she pedaled her bike towards the park, Emilia tried to shake off the uneasy feeling. She had more important things to focus on, like getting to the park early to make her final delivery of the day. Mr. Andy's food truck was waiting for her, and she was excited to drop off the last batch of her mom's famous baked goods.
Mr. Andy was a kind old man who had a soft spot for Emilia's mom's cooking. He loved selling her treats to his customers, and Emilia loved seeing the smile on his face whenever she made a delivery. It was a win-win situation, and Emilia was grateful to have such a loyal customer.
As she rode, Emilia's legs began to ache. She had been working non-stop all day, and the thought of getting home before dark was becoming increasingly appealing. The sun was still high in the sky, but Emilia knew that the days were getting shorter, and she didn't want to get caught out after dark.
She picked up her pace, her bike wheels spinning faster as she rode towards the park. She could see the food truck in the distance, and her heart lifted at the thought of finally finishing her deliveries for the day. Just a few more minutes, and she could head home, kick off her shoes, and relax. Just then her phone rang, it was her mom
“Hey mom, I'll be home soon, just doing the last delivery” Emilia said
“Am really sorry, it was a last minute call” her mom Joan, said, few hours after Emilia left she got one order from out of town, it was a little far off the town but this was the first order out of town and she needs every cent she can earn
“Oh no mom no” Emilia pleaded with her knowing her next train of words
“You know I wouldn't tell you if it wasn't important, and it's our first customer out of town, please mily” Joan begged her daughter
“Okay fine, fine, I'll get it done, send me the address” Emilia said giving in to her mom's request
“Yes, thank you my little chinko”
Emilia finished the call with her mother and sighed, this would ruin her plan, going to the outskirts of town would cost her lots of time, but she pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind and focused on the task at hand, if the people out there would love her mom's baked goods, it would be of great help to them, she packed up her stuff and started to head for the border.
The place she went to was a bit far, few minutes into the ride and she was already getting scared, it was getting dark and there was no one out here, just her and the road, she hasn't even seen any car pass by, but she had called her mom, and she had send she was going the right way, it's been almost an hour now and shes still in doubt, just as she was about to call her mom again, her eyes caught a house, it was magnificent, so beautiful, she looked at the address on her phone again and saw that this was the place
How could someone who lived in this side of heaven know about her mother's food, she parked at the gate, and just as she was about to knock, she heard a voice
“Can I help you” she almost jumped out of her skin, she looked around if she could find the owner of the voice, but all she saw was a small speaker close to the gate
“Um…..hi.. delivery for Maria??”
The speaker went inside it's compartment and out came a big box, she wondered how that box could fit in there “ put it in the box” came the voice, which she did, even if this place was beautiful and magnificent, she couldn't help the creepy feeling she's getting, since the order has already been paid for, she turned back eager to distance herself from this place, she didn't even bother putting her signature glitter on it, she didn't think whoever was in that place would like it
It was really late now, she didn't think time had moved that fast, she was getting cold and tired, she got down from her bike and took her sweatshirt from her food compartment, she had put it on when she decided to cross to the other side and continue her journey, just as she took two steps, she saw car heading towards her at maximum speed, she quickly shield her bike and the car swayed to the other side and hit the street light
She was so glad the car didn't hit her bike, she had no money to get a new one and she loved her bike so much, her mom gave it to her on her birthday and it has been with her for years, through thick and thin
“You must've been scared, my little baby, don't worry Mama's here”
Just as she was petting her baby, she heard a man's voice “ Turn around and face me”, the voice made her shudder not in a bad way, it sent shivers down her spine to the tip of her toe, what the hell, she turned around and flared at whoever this person is, big mistake
This wasn't a person, this is an Adonis, he must've missed his way to the heavens, but then this Adonis almost killed her and her bike, she pushed away the feeling and glared at him even more, instead of him to apologize, he's screaming at her, this was definitely not her day, he even told her to pay for the damage, even if she sold her kidneys and heart, it still wouldn't be enough, she doesn't have a car but she knew about cars, and that car is not a car, that's a Machine, customized to its owner, heavens know she can't pay for any damage.
Besides it wasn't her fault, he was the one driving, she got on her bike and started to head home, she's losing time as it is now, the man kept calling to her with his adoring voice, she would do anything that voice says she should do, but she held on to her pride and didn't look back, she didn't want to involve herself in stuff like that anymore, love has never been in her favor, and look at him, someone like him wouldn't even take a second glance at her chubby self, she hurried on home to get some rest
