Chapter 8

1227 Words
Time truly flies when you're having fun. Yes I'll say that again, I was having fun with Czar. I didn't think that I'd enjoy myself this much, but I did. And all we did was go to three different orphanages and do some charitable acts, giving money and spending some time with the children. I could tell that he was outside his comfort zone but I saw the way he connected with a lot of the kids and the woman in me was found shaking. He drove the shiny black classic mustang, which rumbled like the sexiest thing on this earth. There's just something about muscle cars that weakens me. Everything from his leather seats to the dangling chain on the rear view mirror and the strong smell of his cologne, caused goose bumps to appear on my arm. "Where are you taking me, Czar?" I asked him, taking another fry and placing it in my mouth. I was starving after such a long day and Czar had taken us through a driveway, telling me that there was somewhere he wanted to take me and I said sure. I know I should've said no, but this was my first and last time hanging out with him so I might as well make the most of it. The car was driving up an abandoned road and then further up a mountain. I looked around us at all of the snow as I lowered the volume of the music that I was playing. I looked down at my phone and saw that I had ten missed calls from my brother but I'd pay attention to them later as I looked outside and saw him stop the car when we reached the top. "Oh wow," I looked out at the city below. You couldn't really see anything besides the white blanket of snow but it was a beautiful sight. Seeing the buildings covered in white snow as he and I sat in the warmth of the car.  "I think I just got goose bumps," I told him and laughed. He looked at me, leaning back in his chair as he gave me a small smirk and I looked away shyly. "You can have some of my fries with me," I invited him as I opened my take away and placed it between us, near the gears and perched it up so we could both eat while I slurped on my smoothie. "I love this song," I told him as I raised the volume slightly when the song Live the music by (D&L) Crazy White Boy, began to play on the radio. "Is this the kind of music you listen to?" he asked me and I shook my head. "I listen to all kinds of music," I shrugged, "but I don't listen to music all the time. Like once in a blue moon, I guess today is my once in a blue moon," I smiled at him, "you're a bad influence, Czar." "So I've heard," he chuckled and the sound was like heaven to my ears as I watched him take a fry into his mouth and look at me. "I've heard...quite a bit about you, Czar," I paused, adjusting my seat and sitting criss-cross on the chair after I'd kicked off my heels and faced Czar, "you've got quite a reputation." "What have you heard about me, Dr?" he urged with a raised eyebrow, his thick Russian accent, making every word of his sound like a threat. I placed my finger beneath my chin, "you're quite the bad boy around these parts," I settled on saying to him and he actually smiled at me and I wished I could snap a picture of him because that was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.  "I've never been called a bad boy before. I kind of like that," he chuckled as he watched me like I was so interesting and he couldn't seem to take his eyes off me.  "Stop looking at me like that," I told him, raising an eyebrow with a smile on my face as I had the urge to tuck my hair behind my ear, but then again, I was wearing hijab, so there's nothing to tuck behind my ear.  "Like what?" he challenged, still not looking away or decreasing the intensity of his stare.  "Like I'm actually something to look at," I answered him, "like I'm someone special."  "Well, you are, Dr."  I licked my bottom lip, "your charms won't work on me, Czar, I'm better than that. I'm a grown woman who knows what she should and shouldn't be flattered with. I've been in this dating scene for a long time."  "Is that so? Well, I'm not like other men out there," he paused and winked at me, "I'm a bad boy," he deadpanned, his eyes telling me there was more to what he was saying.  "All the more reason to stay far, far away from you," I reached for another fry and dipped it into some ketchup before eating it, "a Dr with a bad boy, now that's unheard of."  "There's a first for everything."  "So you do want to be with me?"  "You intrigue me. Something about you," he paused, "makes me want you. I can't seem to shake it off."  "Well, you just have to, Czar." "Is that what you want, Dr?"  "Yes."  "Well, we don't always get what we want."  "That applies to you as well. You don't want to get involved with me, and quite frankly I don't want to get involved with you, at all. It would be very stupid and foolish of me to get involved with you anymore than I have today, Czar."  "I guess it would be foolish of a Dr to get involved with a bad boy, but life's an adventure and I think you might like this one."  "I don't want a bad boy, Mr Hutcherson. I'd very much so appreciate the most good boy there is out there. I'm attracted to men who wear glasses and wear sweaters and ties, not the kind with tattoos and mustangs." "I'll make you eat those words, Dr," he chuckled as he smirked yet again, "I think you and I might have a very interesting story."  "All that cocaine you've been doing has gone straight to your head because you are delusional."  "I guess you could say I am delusional," he paused and looked outside at the city and instead of looking outside as well, I looked at him, "but, cocaine isn't the cause of this," he stopped and looked at me, catching me looking at him and this time our eyes directly met and he didn't talk for some time.  His eyes were pulling me in, more and more and I knew I needed to look away but the interesting mix of colour. Were his eyes green? Emerald? Brown? There was so much going on in those orbs, something dark and sinister.  "I don't want to get involved with you, Czar, whether we become friends or "lovers", I don't want anything to happen," I said as I looked away from his eyes and looked anywhere but him, but my eyes found his again and this time I couldn't pull away.  "I'll say this one last time, we don't always get what we want," he repeated.  ~~~
