Chapter 3

I know that Leonardo and I agreed on the 20th, but I haven't seen my brother in exactly a year and I miss him greatly. So yeah, I went to work the next day and informed them that I was taking the rest of the holidays off before booking the next flight and off I went to Russia. I didn't say anything to him because I wanted to surprise him. I had his address, so I was sorted. The second I reached the airport and called a cab service, I went straight to his place. I didn't bring many clothes because I was sure I'd just go shopping when I was with Leonardo.  There were butterflies in my stomach from the excitement of the surprise because I can't wait to see his face the second I ring that doorbell, if he even has one. "Thank you," I said to the driver of the BMW X7 that came to pick me up at the airport. I adjusted my blue pantsuit as I climbed out of the car and the driver handed me my Birkin bag before I looked at the beautiful bachelor pad that stood before me. I walked up the driveway and to the front door, my fingers itching to knock on the door. I reached the big beautiful glass door and saw that it was open slightly, and I thought: well, what's the harm in it? It is my brother's house and pushed open the door slightly. But then again, what if he's with a girl and they're having s*x or some gross thing like that? "Leonardo!" I called out in a sing song voice as I looked around the house and decided to turn right towards what I hoped would be the living room. "Oh this is nice," I breathed out as I walked further into the house and everything was so masculine and stylish. "Leonard- oh," I stopped when I saw a man sitting in one of my brother's couches, looking anything but relaxed judging from the scary tattoos all over his body, "uh...hi?" I said nervously and he didn't respond, just watched me. "I'm so sorry," I apologized profusely after my eyes had scanned his figure from head to toe. This man's eyes caused a shiver to run down all the way from my head to my toes and my heart beat picked up. I've seen my fair share of handsome gentlemen, trust me when I say I have, but this one right here was most definitely one of the most intimidatingly handsome men I've ever set my eyes on. Everything from his medium tan skin and neck covered in dark tattoos was transfixing. His eye colour was emerald and sucked you in because those orbs seemed evil. He had a buzz cut and he wore a white suit with no shirt underneath so I could see his tattoos and abs.  I almost choked and tripped over my own feet at the surprise and I hate that my eyes immediately went to his shirtless tattooed chest, that suit jacket did very little to hide.  I looked away immediately, noting my sin. "I'm so sorry," I repeated, "I was looking for my brother and I didn't know. Oh my God, I must have the wrong address, I really am sorry, sir. I'll be on my way." He observed me, I could feel it and just when I turned to walk away he finally said something, "Leonardo is busy with an emergency surgery. You may sit," he gave me permission in his strong and powerful voice and my knees almost buckled beneath me. I wanted to slap myself silly, but I couldn't help my bodily reactions, "ok," I breathed out as I walked to the couch adjacent from his and sat down, placing my Birkin bag beside me as I crossed my legs. I knew what would follow would be awkward silence and I prepared myself for it. I'm not a very talkative person but let's be honest, awkward silence is not where it's at. I'm perfectly content with normal silence but the silence between myself and this man was bothering me, but I felt I didn't have anything useful and beneficial to say so I would keep quiet. And keep quiet, I did, until a whole 45 minutes went by and finally I broke it, "my name's Sabrina England," I introduced myself to the handsome stranger and he slowly turned his head to look at me, his expression unmoving, "it's..." I paused, wondering if I should carry on, "lovely to meet you." "I thought it was Dr Sabrina England," I heard my brother's voice interrupt and I turned with a huge grin on my face to see him walking into the sitting area, "and what on earth are you doing here?" I didn't answer his question because I just shot up from my chair and grabbed my brother into a much needed long overdue hug. "I missed you so much," I said to him as I pulled back and then made jazz hands, "surprise!" I told him excitedly before I started to laugh. Leonardo gave me a smile before it came off his face completely and he looked towards the stranger who was now standing a few feet away, casually walking towards us. "The surgery was a success," Leonardo said and I looked behind Leonardo seeing a man being carried by two other men, out of the house, "he's really wounded and he needs at least a month of bed rest, Boss." The man, who now I know is my brother's boss, didn't say a word, just walked past us and then stopped a few feet away, turning to face me, "Czar," he just stated, powerfully, and then walked out.  It was silent for a bit and then I looked up at my brother, "that was intense," I said to him, breathing out.  My brother frowned, "that's him being nice."  ~~~
