I stood leaning against the bedroom door, trying to build up the courage to step outside and face Czar after last night. I was more than embarrassed about my reaction last night. I'm blushing just thinking about how unnecessary and dramatic I was.
After Czar had picked me up, he drove me to his house which was literally in the mountains and I'd be lying if I said his home wasn't impressive and beautiful.
His house is literally at the very top of the mountain, covered by snow. The architecture and design of his home is so exquisite and tasteful that his house belongs in all kinds of house magazines. Everything from the black colour of the house that contrasts with the white snow outside, to the expensive wood flooring, is just pure perfection. I can't fault his home and even if I could, I wouldn't. It would be very rude and disrespectful of me.
After we arrived at his house, Czar led me to one of his spare bedrooms and that's how I'm awake now, and have been awaken for I assume a couple of hours, thinking about what I was going to say to him.
I definitely need to apologize for my childish behaviour and theatrics. I scoff as I think about how I cried in his passenger seat.
I decided that if I didn't open the door now, I'd probably die in here so I stepped out of the bedroom.
The house wasn't massive. It was a three bedroom three bathroom home, built by an architectural genius because I've never seen such a beautiful place. I can just see from the design that this house cost a fortune even though it wasn't so large.
I walked downstairs, moving with the bends and curves of the house before I stepped into the kitchen and I found Czar already in the kitchen. He was standing and drinking a beer, leaning against the counter as he looked down at his phone.
When I walked in, he looked up at me and we both were just silent. I was feeling awkward but I'm not too sure about him because Czar never really gives anything away.
"Uh," I cleared my throat, "good morning," I said softly and timidly as I looked down at my feet but forced myself to look up and not be too ashamed of myself.
"Morning," he acknowledged, his eyes looking me up and down and I knew I looked ridiculous because I wasn't exactly dressed appropriately. I was wearing one of my new onesies that I'd purchased when I arrived in Russia. It's more like comfortable clothing. "I hope you slept well," he said to me as he stood up straight and walked to the refrigerator, taking out a plate and putting it besides me.
"I did, thank you," I said as I looked at the plate and the contents on it. It was fruits, just the way I always eat my breakfast. It was almost chilling that it had all the fruits I eat every morning; an apple, a pear and a banana. "How did you know I eat fruits for breakfast?" I asked him but he didn't answer me.
"What happened between your brother and yourself?"
I grimaced, thinking about last night and my shame washed over me in waves, "I should really apologize for how I acted last night. I'm really so embarrassed. I have never acted like that before. I just had a little argument with my brother, but all is well," I answered him, hoping that he wouldn't think that Leonardo is some kind of abuser and fire him or anything drastic like that.
"You were pretty shaken up," Czar observed and I shook my head.
"I guess I was but there was no reason for me to be, I'm sorry. I think, maybe, silly me is missing her mum and dad," I said with a nervous laugh as I peeled the banana and took a bite. It was only when I went for my second bite did I realise that I was eating a banana in front of a man.
I looked up from the food to look at Czar who was watching me, and the worst part of it is… I had the whole banana in my widely open mouth, because I didn't yet bite down on it.
I dropped it quickly and looked away, my eyes looking anywhere but at him.
I heard him clear his throat and I flushed with embarrassment, "would you like me to drop you off at your brother's house? If not, you're totally welcome to stay here."
"Oh that's not neccessary, I think I should just go home. I'll book a flight-"
"There's no need, I have a private jet that can take you home."
"Oh, no, that's fine. I mean, what if you need it? I can't-"
He chuckled, "I have hundreds of private jets, Dr. You can use one of my private jets, and please, you can keep it too. Matter of fact, I'm giving it to you."
"E-E-excuse me, what?"
Czar looked down at his phone which started to ring, "I have some matters I need to attend to, Dr, but you can get ready, and in a...an hour? I'll bring down the private jet to come pick you up. Is that ok?"
"Pick me up where? Pick me up here?" I asked him, referring to his house.
"Yes," he nodded, placing the phone to his ear and before he spoke on the phone, "lock up my house before you leave," and then walked away.
