Preoccupied with thoughts of how he should present himself when the time came, Theo barely even noticed the breakfast tray Henry’d arranged. Honey cakes and clotted cream and butter and tea. From the scent of the pot, Henry had indeed used the fennel. There was one problem, however. “Have you eaten already?” The tray was set for only one. “No.” Henry hadn’t sat down, either: poised at Theo’s small breakfast-table. “I thought I’d pop in to see Professor Haru. I’ve been wanting to speak with her about ley-lines and the stars. See if she’s noticed anything unusual as of late.” Theo, still lingering right in front of the stairs, hesitated.
