Chapter 16Maya still wouldn’t let me see Luke alone. I was going along with it for now, but thoughts of going to my lawyer if she didn’t let up soon frequently crossed my mind.
Fall weather had finally arrived. I got a job at McDonald’s because it was within walking distance, and enjoyed the falling leaves and cooler weather. Living downtown was pretty cool, there was a convenience store, dollar store, and restaurants all within blocks of my apartment. And of course the library was right across the street. I had a lot more time on my hands living alone, but I was finding ways to fill the time, including working on my writing. My therapist came to my apartment for appointments every two weeks.
