A really Bad Day...........

“Please, please, please don't fire me" Mira thought desperately, staring pleadingly at the stooped old man glaring angrily at her from behind thick owlish looking glasses. Things haven't been going really well for Mira Park. At 27, she had just barely scraped herself off the her mother's pavement and finally taken the call to get her own apartment- which she had been able to keep afloat thanks to the monthly allowance her generous step father keeps throwing her way, Mira thought with an invincible eye roll. Man was nothing more than a green snake who knew all the perfect hiding spots in the dark green grass of her mother's field. Her mother's husband, Carl was one of the reasons why she had insisted on moving out of her mother's house this year, he was always coming onto her whenever he felt her mother was out of sight which was nearly all of the time. Mira really loved her mother Martha, but sometimes, she always acted like everything was okay as long as she could afford her long trips to Dubai with “the girls", then she was fine. Martha had and met and married Carl 10 years ago when Mira was 17 and had always been on one business trip (which in reality was her mother travelling the world with her stuck up friends) or the other. This had given Carl plenty of time to sexually harass and molest Mira nearly all the time since they were always together, and when she just couldn't stand it anymore she decided to get her own apartment. Another reason she moved out was the fact that her mother was always treating her like a baby who couldn't make decisions for herself. Martha had practically made all the decisions for her and she had finally gotten tired of it and taken the courage to call it off with her mother. Mira had no friends and she rarely went out besides to work and now, she just could be fired from the only place on earth she could center her life about right now. “ If I'm not mistaken Ms. park, you issued these receipts last week to be shipped right?" Mr. jack her boss asked sternly. ” yes jack I'm very so- " " -Cut it out" jack snapped cutting her short angrily. “you can't deliberately sabotage the company and say sorry . it doesn't work that way young lady." I stare hard at the wall above Jack's head , he always take thing too hard and I had an inkling of what was about to come even before he said it. He was going to fire me. “ I'm sorry I have to do this Mira but I think I have to let you go, please see HR on your way out to drop off the company's items that are in your possession" jack said maliciously as if he had been waiting to this all day. “ You've got to be f*****g kidding me. it was an honest mistake" I yelled angrily slamming my fist down on Jack's table and sending the leaflets on it flying. “ watch your word young lady" jack said calmly folding his hands in front of him on his desk. Mira desolately get up , moved to my office, packed my things up and dropped off all company's properties with the human resources team on the 5th floor and headed down the elevator to the 1st floor and main entrance of the building that house ISI inc. Once outside, Mira started run walking towards the bus shelter that was just around the corner so as to avoid the the rain that was gathering overhead. She was barely a few feet away from the contraption when the skies suddenly burst open , torrents of rain drowning the already tired Mira Park from head to toe. Mira just couldn't hold it in any more and at that point, she burst into loud laughter, flung the books she held cradled to chest away and spun round crazily in the cold. “How more bad could today be?" she thought Once in the bus shelter, She sat on the steel hard surface that had been placed there just for that purpose and thought about how long it was going to take to wait the rain out. Rain sure knew how to make a moody day awful . “meow" "great," Mira thought "now I'm hallucinating". call me crazy but that was definitely the sound of a cat.She turned around to find herself being watched closely by a pair of curious yellow eyes. Mira was startled, cats aren't supposed to have yellow eyes were they?, she was quickly cut off of her internal debate when the poor cat meowed again and stretched it's front paw out to Mira. " Aw, you poor little kitty, " Mira cooed bending to pick the cat up. " don't worry, I'm also all alone and I bet we just would make the best team. wouldn't we?". For some reason, the cat was way heavier than a cat ought to be but Mira didn't mind. That meant it was healthy didn't it?. A few seconds later as if by a stroke of good luck, the bus came along inspire the heavy rain and Mira and her mysterious black cat got I it heading to Mira's home where it was warm and safe if only for today.
