Episode six.
*Tessa*
Finding a job is the first step I will take towards standing on my own and bringing a purpose to my life.
His betrayer hurts, but I can't let it be the end of me.
I need a job, to at least support with rent and groceries.
I, along with other applicants waited at the waiting side of the CEO's office.
My heart was racing with so many thoughts, I couldn't afford to not get this job.
Firmly holding onto my Curriculum Vitae, I recited silent prayers of success in my heart.
The CEO's door was opened by a tall, curly hair looking guy who looked like in his early twenties.
He cracked his voice.
"Good day everyone, the CEO, unfortunately, got an emergency call and right now can only attend to three applicants. I will choose the first to go in." The gentleman announced and I swear my heart almost popped out of my chest because of how fast it was beating.
I shut my eyes, praying hard to be chosen amongst the three people.
"You." I heard him say and I opened my eyes slowly, his long finger was pointing in my direction.
"Me?" I gasped.
"Yes, you. Or are you not ready? I can choose someone else to..."
"No, no, I'm, I'm ready." I cut him off panting.
I stood up hurriedly, dropping my CV in the process.
He hissed.
"I'm...I'm sorry," I said and quickly packed my documents and rushed to the door side.
I calmed myself and arranged my hair in order not to give a first bad impression to the CEO, before knocking on the door.
"Come in." A familiar voice replied.
I didn't have enough time to recall where I heard it before but I swear the voice sounded so familiar to me.
"God help me," I mumbled and pushed the door knob giving me access to the office.
I turned my back and shut the door before turning and what!
"Damian!" I gasped.
It's Damian, the guy I shamefully gave my virginity to.
I was shocked, yeah, if there is any word that could describe how shocked I am more than shocked then I will gladly use it.
Damian was also surprised to see me.
His jaw dropped.
"Tessa?" He muttered.
"I...I...God!" I slapped my forehead, feeling embarrassed.
"Come in, have a seat." He said and I don't know how my cold legs were able to walk me to the chair.
I sat down, unable to look into his eyes.
I'm sure he sees me as a w***e, a shameless one at that.
"You are one of the applicants?" He questioned.
"Ye...yes." I shuttered.
"Good, I was just talking about you with the Man that called you in. Fate brought you back to me." Damian stated, adjusting his tie. He looked so handsome with the new haircut that added to his handsomeness.
But why was he talking about me? Talking about how stupid I was...
"Talking about me?" I asked.
"Yes, you didn't tell me you were a virgin. Why!" He snarled.
"It doesn't matter. I just wanted to get rid of the stupid virginity and I did." I replied, twisting my lips.
He stood up from his chair and walked closer to me, playing with my hair.
I stood up quickly.
"What are you doing?" I snapped.
"I had been thinking about you since that day and I couldn't get enough of you. I searched for you, so I could get you over in my bed again." He muttered, staring at me lustfully and I felt so disgusted at myself.
Great, now he thinks you are some kind of slut.
"With all due respect, sir. I'm here for a job offer, not for anything. What happened that day, it was a mistake, I was stupid, but I'm not a slut or whatever you may think I am! I regretted what I did with you, and If I had known you were the CEO of this company, I wouldn't have even come seeking a job." I ranted.
"Aw, beautiful. Playing hard to get huh? I love that. But I didn't say you were a slut, you were a virgin and I respected that, so...I guess you need this job because you need money, right?" He asked, breathing on my face.
I shifted my face away.
"Yes... I'm behind on rent and, I just need the job to help build back myself. Like a therapy, you know." I replied.
"If it's money you want, I can give you any amount you want! Just name it and I will double it." Damian said, I felt a fire boiling inside me.
All thanks to my stupid ex, I had brought insult upon myself.
"I told you! I am not a slut! If you cannot give me a job then fine, I don't need your damn money!" I spat and pushed him away.
"Chill, let's take a look at your C.V.," he said, raising his hands.
I glared at him and dropped my folder on his desk.
He glanced at me before opening it.
"First class, from Hilton University? Isn't that the local university down the road? That's where you studied, and you think a high-class Company like this with a high reputation will offer you a job? Ridiculous." He laughed.
His words pained me, he is just a jerk, like everyone else.
"What matters is, that it was a recognized university and I was a top student," I muttered.
"Oh? I doubt if the lecturers there are even qualified enough to teach you. So to me, your first class is useless and we certainly cannot hire someone like you who likely has nothing to offer." He rudely spat and harshly flung my C.V.
"Get out!" He shouted.
I can't believe him. The night he took my virginity, okay, I willingly gave it to him, but he acted so sweet, and now he is this rude.
I know it, all men are scum, evil, stupid, and wicked.
I felt so angry, I wish I could punch his stupid face.
I took my CV and slammed my hands on his desk.
"A company like yours doesn't deserve me too. i***t!" I spat and stormed out of the office, angry tears falling from my eyes.
