Chapter 31It was going on ten o'clock at night when Zofia pulled up in front of her house.
She moved to levitate Elton out of the 4-Runner but stopped when she heard a car door shut somewhere nearby. She looked up. A tall man strode through a puddle of light toward her. Dressed in jeans and a short sleeved shirt, Richard crossed the street and stood next to her.
“So, looks like you found him,” he said evenly, squinting into the dark car. “Is he okay?”
“Yeah. He's asleep,” she said.
“Where did you find him?”
“In a cave.” Pretty close to the truth. She wasn't about to go into details.
