Chapter Twenty-FiveWalking to my car in the mid-afternoon sunshine, I noticed the Jersey Jokers working out in full regalia, drawing an increasing and fascinated crowd to the square. I stood on the perimeter for a moment and watched the acrobats toss different objects back and forth in succession. First it was the traditional pins, then rubber balls, then grapefruits that they peeled a bit after each toss and finally, split the pieces and tossed them to the crowd much to everyone's delight, then eggs, canvas-backed chairs and finally, ball peen hammers. Quite a spectacle, I had to admit and clearly the audience lapped it up. One of the jugglers lay on his back and the other stood on the bottom of his feet tossing balloons filled with water.
