Chapter Four
CINDY CRUZ POV
We finally arrived at the church with the most beautiful, white Lamborghini that I had ever seen. It was the most expensive thing I had touched in my life. My mum's new husband sent it over for us to ride in. His name is Caleb. Caleb Gray. I learned that he was one of the richest men in the country. He is a business tycoon. I know right? He is wealthy. I heard that he has a son too but I have never for once seen him before. I was going to be having a stepbrother automatically but I don't even know what he looks like. I don't even know his name either. Mr. Caleb was good at keeping his family private. I heard from my mum that this wedding was private too and that only family and friends were invited. I love that. I don't like attention either.
I stayed in the car with my mum trying to make up with her. I wanted to apologize to her and at least hug her before she said her vows to Mr. Caleb. I don't like when we are on bad terms with each other. I can't stay not talking to my mum for a day. She was closer to me than anyone. All I wanted was her happiness and I won't allow anyone to ruin it. She has suffered a lot. She deserves to live a happy life. She deserves to be happy.
We stayed silent and it was torture for me. I shifted my gaze to her and our eyes met.
"I am sorry mum. It won't happen again. I promise." I said to her and she turned to me fully.
"You are just saying sorry. Do you know how worried I was? You have me sleepless nights because I thought something bad had happened to you. Do you think it was easy for me? You are the only one I have left. Ever since your father left us, we were always together. I don't know what I will do if something bad happens to you, Cindy." She stressed and I knew this was the last straw. The second tears rolled out of her eyes, my heart dropped. I became sad too because I knew she was hurt. I should have called her last night. I should have at least called that I was okay. I pulled her in a hug.
"I am sorry, mum. I am sorry. That won't happen again. I promise. I promise, mum. Please forgive me." I pleaded to her and she was still not saying anything. I just wanted her to say something. I just wanted her to know how sorry I was. I can't let her stay mad at me for long. I won't be able to handle it. She is the only one I have left as my blood.
"Please, mum. Say something. I am begging you." I said trying not to cry. I will ruin my makeup.
"I will only be okay with you if you tell me where you were last night. Where were you? Who were you with? Where did you sleep?"
She asked and I dare not tell her the truth. I can't tell her that her daughter lost her virginity to a guy last night. She might die of a heart attack. I don't want to ruin her happy day. All I wanted was her happiness and nothing more.
"I was with Lexie last night. We went to the bar last night to celebrate our success in getting into the university of our dreams. After that, we went home and I passed the night because it was too late. I am sorry I could have just called so you won't be worried about me." I told her and she nodded.
"It's okay. I thought you were out there getting wasted. Thank Goodness you are safe now. Don't ever do that again. Please. Don't ever do it again." My mum said and she finally smiled at me. I wiped off her tears and I was careful with her makeup. We didn't say anything for a while after we hugged and I knew that she was nervous.
"Don't be nervous Mom. I know you have done this before. I know that Mr. Caleb will be happy to see you. Please, don't be nervous." I talked with her.
"Yes, yes. I should only think about him. He is going to be happy to see me. He loves me." She said to me.
I nodded and I hugged her.
Soon, a woman announced to us that it was time for my mum's entry. I smiled.
I was the first to step out of the car and it was then I saw Lexie all dressed up. I scoffed at her and she smiled at me. She was putting on a brown, flared gown, and her makeup was top notch too. She knew what she did to me. She ditched me in the middle of our celebration.
We made our entry first followed by the flower girls and boys. When it was my mum's turn to enter as the bride, everyone stood on their feet. The door opened and she stepped into her white, beautiful wedding gown. It was so beautiful.
I saw Mr. Caleb. His facial expression said it all. He was happy to see my mother. He was wearing a bright smile that was enough to brighten the day. I smiled as we all applauded her. She looked so elegant. Mr. Caleb must be so lucky to marry her. My biological father didn't know what he lost, to be honest. He lost a beautiful, kind, charming woman. I am happy for Mr. Caleb. I hope he is going to continue to make her happy.
My mum walked down the aisle gracefully and when she reached the altar, Mr. Caleb took her hand and they faced the priest who was going to be joining them together as husband and wife. I went back to my seat just to catch a glimpse of someone.
Not an ordinary person but the hot guy I met and slept with last night. I continued to stare at him but the moment, he locked eyes with me, I was shocked.
He was the one truly. I don't have bad eyes.
He then winked at me.
