Chapter Five CINDY CRUZ POV Uneasiness crept into my body I saw him clearly with my eyes. This is crazy. This can't be. What was he doing here at my mom's wedding? Was he stalking me? Who told him about my mom's wedding? Whatever transpired between us should remain in that room. Nothing can ruin the relationship of my mother with Mr. Caleb. No one can ruin my mom's happiness. Anyone who wants to try it will have to go through me first. I thought I would be able to excuse myself but my mom was reciting her vows to Mr. Caleb and he did the same. After pronouncing them husband and wife, they did the 'you nay noe kiss your bride thing'. I couldn't watch such. I was not interested in watching my mom kiss someone. It's irritating and strange at the same time. I excised myself to the restroom and Lexie followed me. I knew she was trying to apologize to me for what she did. She ditched her best friend for a d**k. What if something bad happened to me? I hastened my footsteps because that wasn't the problem now. The problem right now is why the guy is here. I was vigilant and confused at the same time. Was he here to cause a scene? No way. "Wait, I am sorry. I didn't know you were -" "You didn't know I was going to come back? Are you serious, Lexie? I thought we were best friends. You ditched your best friend d in the middle of a celebration to suck a d**k Who does that? Who leaves her best friend for a man? Well, I guess you had fun with him last night. Why don't you go back to him and take more d**k?" I blurted and she held my arm. "I said I am sorry. That guy was just too good. I can't control myself last night. I wish I called you. I am sorry." She apologized and I sighed. "Fine! You are forgiven. Everything is back to normal." I told her and we pulled each other in a hug. Suddenly, I remembered that guy again. "Hey, what's wrong?" She asked me. I explained everything to her and she was shocked too. "That guy is here? Is he stalking you?" She asked. "That's what I am not sure of. How does he know that my mum was having her wedding today? I don't remember inviting him at all. I don't remember saying anything like that to him." I told her. I sighed. "Look bestie, you can't allow some guy to ruin your happiness today. Let's go back to the party. As long as he won't bother you, then we are good but if he does, we won't hesitate to kick him out of here." Lexie assured me and I nodded. I will do just that. I won't allow anyone to ruin this day for me. This day is important for my mum. I checked the time. It was time for the reception. My mum will have her first dance with her new husband Mrs. Gray. I smiled and we left. Lexie and I realized that everyone had gone to the reception party. We went there too and when we got there, it was the most beautiful sight ever. Seven cakes were available. Different types of drinks. Both traditional and modern drinks. I smiled and when the party started, I sat down with Lexie watching my mum dancing with my stepdad. Automatically, Mr. Caleb has become my stepdad. Even though we were cheering for them, I couldn't help but sense that someone was staring intensely at me. Like the person was watching my every move. What the heck was happening? I didn't pay much attention to it until I saw the hot guy from yesterday. I don't even know his name. Who was he? And why was he here? I didn't realize who he was until my mum came to me and told me to follow her. I did and Mr. Caleb was there. This time around, behind Mr. Caleb was the guy. It was then I spotted the resemblance between the two of them. I hope it isn't what I am thinking. No way. It can't be. "Meet my son, Dominic. Dominic, meet Allison's daughter, Cindy. Cee-c for short." Mr. Caleb introduced us to each other. Wait, what? Did I just hear son? The hot guy that f****d me yesterday was my stepdad's son? No way, no way. This can't be. I shouldn't have done that. I shouldn't have had anything to do with him. Sweat formed on my forehead that I didn't notice until my mum pointed it out to me. "Why are you sweating? Are you okay?" My mum asked. I nodded and smiled at her. But the smile vanished immediately. "We will leave you two to get to know each other." Mr. Caleb urged and took my mum by the hand. When they left, things became so awkward between us. It was shameful to be in front of him. He stretched out his hand for a handshake which I declined and walked away. I found my way to the restroom. No! I slammed my purse on the white sink. I splashed some water on my face thinking that if I was in a dream, I would wake up. But I didn't. It was real. I just want to go home right now. I don't want to stay here anymore. I can't act like everything is okay after what happened yesterday. The next thing I did, was I pulled out my phone and texted my mum that I was going home. I told Lexie too and she accompanied me home. "You are not serious, are you? What do you mean he is the one? He is your stepbrother now." "That's the point. I didn't know. I f****d around without being careful and now, how can I face my mum? How?" I asked Lexie. * I rolled over the bed not knowing it was daybreak already. My mum entered my room and to look into her eyes has now become a problem for me. How would I tell her that the guy I slept with yesterday turned out to be my stepbrother? No way. I can't say such a thing. No. It will ruin her marriage. She will get sad. "Cindy, hey. Are you sleeping?" My mum asked. "I am tired mum. I need some rest." I said, still burying my head in the pillow. "It's time to pack. We won't be staying here anymore. I am married now. We are moving into the Gray's mansion today." The moment she said that I sat up. What? I hadn't even thought of that yet. I can't. I can't follow her there. I can't. There is no way I can live in the same house with that guy. Things will get worse. "I don't want to, mum. Let me just stay here." I told her and she frowned. "But why?" She asked. I looked for an excuse. "Because I don't think I will get comfortable there at all and the university isn't far from here. Can you go without me, mum?" "No! I can't leave you here. My mind will never be at peace knowing you are not with me. You have to come with me. He has a son around your age. Trust me, you are going to love it there. And you know, if you are happy for me, you will follow me there." She said and walked away and I knew she was mad. I dragged myself out of the bed and began to pack. I have no choice. In the evening, we were picked up by another car. When we got there, some maids helped us to settle in. I will look around the house later. The house was ten times bigger than the house my mum and I used to live in. Once again, I ran into Dominic, my stepbrother. Ew! That title tasted weird on my lips. I was taken to my supposed room and jeez, it was so big. A queen-sized bed and the interior design was top notch. It was painted pink and white. A typical girl's room. I was still admiring everything when the door opened. Behold, my arrogant stepbrother walked in. "I didn't know you were the gold digger's daughter." He spoke rudely just as before. I frowned at him. "What? What did you just call me?" I asked just to be sure I heard him. "I said I didn't know you were the gold digger's daughter. But it's good anyway. Are you surprised to see me here?" I balled my fist and he looked down at my hand. "You won't punch me, would you? Or have you forgotten what happened between us? How I f****d that wet p***y of yours? How about I call your mum and tell her everything?" He said and was about to leave when I stopped him by grabbing his hand. He yanked my hand away from me and turned me with his hands in his pocket. "No, you can't do that. My mum will hate me forever and besides, I didn't know you were the one. I didn't know you were my stepbrother. Please. Just let it go. It won't happen between us again." I pleaded with him but he didn't look convinced. The next thing I knew, he brought out a paper and handed it over to me. I opened it just to see what was inside. The moment I could wrap my head around what was inside the paper, I raised my head immediately. "What? A contract?" "Yes. We will continue what we did that night and you can't say no to me. The moment you try to change your mind, then your mum will hear about it." "But..." He didn't bother to listen to what I was about to say. He turned to walk away and one thing is for sure. He was about to go report it to my mum. "Wait, please." I ran after him.
