Jace The room still carried her sweet and warm scent. My skin tingled where she had touched me, yet inside, my chest felt empty and cold. She lay beside me in the early morning light. Her breathing was rough and uneven. Her eyelashes were wet against her flushed cheeks. Her bare shoulder pressed against mine, her body so close I could feel her warmth, yet she felt a million miles away. I wanted to pull her into my arms. To kiss her again, but I couldn’t.
