Celeste Without saying much, Jace stood, grabbed his bag, and left for work. I had expected him to insist I change my clothes—but I was wrong. “Baby, wait for me!” I watched as Aria ran after him. The house was quiet now—just like I wanted—but my mind wouldn’t stop racing. Yesterday, when Aria first showed up, I thought about how beautiful she was and how perfect she seemed for Jace. But after what the maid said about me looking prettier, I started to doubt myself. Was I really beautiful? If so, why was I still single and inexperienced with relationships? I ate quickly and went back to my room. I needed to know for sure. I picked up my phone and took a selfie, then posted it on social media. Within seconds, likes and comments started pouring in. “Oh my goodness, you look so pretty.”
