36 Colt’s truck settled as he cut the ignition, his gaze drawn involuntarily down the street in the direction of the vet clinic. To Rose. He scrubbed a hand roughly over his face as he sat back in the driver’s seat. After what had happened with Chalke, Colt was anxious to be away from her for too long, memories of her abduction plaguing his imagination until he had to stop whatever he was doing to go check and make sure that she was still there, that she was safe.
