Closely watching the woman as she stepped forward, her eyes meeting mine, I immediately stated, "She’s not the Prophesied."
The other Alpha's smile grew wider, his eyes gleaming with malicious intent. "You dare to defy destiny?"
At the rival Alpha’s sneer, Twix growled, bearing his teeth at him.
“Easy Twix,” I murmured, mind linking with him. Then, turning my full attention back to the Alpha who stood so definitely before me, I growled, "I dare defy a lie. Now, you will leave peacefully, or face the full wrath of my pack."
Tension swirled heavily around us, the promise of bloodshed thick in the air. The other Alpha's eyes flickered to Twix, then back to me. "You’re a fool," he hissed, his voice dripping with contempt. Then, turning, he strode from the room, his pack following.
