Chapter Four: The Magisterium's Secret History

778 Words
Sabrina Silvermoon sat in the library, the air thick with frustration. She had been searching for hours, but there was no mention of her mother, or the Black Witch's claims. In a moment of desperation, Sabrina decided to take her quest for answers to the highest authority in the Magisterium - Headmistress Ophelia Blackthorn. With her heart pounding in her chest, Sabrina marched down the halls of the Magisterium, determination fueling her every step. At last, she reached the headmistress's door and knocked. A moment later, the door swung open, revealing the formidable figure of Headmistress Blackthorn. "Miss Silvermoon," the headmistress said, her tone cool and collected. "What a surprise. To what do I owe the honor of your visit?" "I need to know the truth about the Magisterium," Sabrina said, the words spilling out of her. "I need to know about the Silvermoon Enchantress, and what happened to her." "And why, exactly, are you so interested in such things?" Headmistress Blackthorn asked, her tone remaining calm, but her eyes flashing with curiosity. "Because I have a right to know!" Sabrina snapped, unable to contain her frustration any longer. "I've been lied to, kept in the dark, and now I want answers!" The headmistress raised an eyebrow, a look of disapproval crossing her face. "Watch your tone, Miss Silvermoon. Such insolence will not be tolerated at the Magisterium." Headmistress Blackthorn continued, her voice still icy. "As for your detention, you will report to the detention class this evening after dinner. There, you will reflect on your behavior and the importance of respect at the Magisterium." Sabrina felt a pit in her stomach as she left the headmistress's office, her head swimming with anger and confusion. She knew she shouldn't have lost her temper, but she couldn't help feeling that the Magisterium was hiding something. Sabrina found herself seated in the detention hall, the room silent and cold. She felt the weight of Headmistress Blackthorn's disappointment lingering in the air. Just as she was beginning to lose herself in her thoughts, a chair scraped against the floor, catching her attention. Sabrina turned to find Dylan Moonstone, his bright smile immediately making her heart flutter. He gave her a wink, bringing his chair closer to hers. "Did you miss me already?" he whispered playfully. Sabrina felt her cheeks flush, her body responding to his close proximity. "I'm sure you didn't miss detention," Sabrina said with a hint of sarcasm, despite the growing heat in her chest. Dylan chuckled, placing a hand on her thigh. "Maybe not detention, but I definitely missed you." Sabrina couldn't deny the electricity that coursed through her at his touch. But then, Delilah and Scarlet's warnings about Dylan echoed in her mind, and she knew she had to be careful. She gently pulled his hand away. "Dylan, I...I don't think we should do this." Dylan moved closer, his breath tickling Sabrina's ear as he whispered, "You're beautiful, Sabrina. Don't you see how much I want you?" Sabrina's heart skipped a beat, her body trembling as Dylan's hand returned to her thigh, his fingers slowly caressing her skin. She wanted to give in, to let him do whatever he wanted with her, but something deep inside told her to resist. "No," she whispered, her voice trembling with desire. "I can't. Not here. Not now." With a sly smile, Dylan leaned back in his chair, his eyes fixed on Sabrina's. "You can't resist me forever, Sabrina. One day, I'll get what I want." After detention, Sabrina walked back to her dorm, her mind still reeling from the encounter with Dylan. Delilah and Scarlet were already there, and they all chatted about classes and gossip, trying to distract themselves from the events of the day. The Great Hall was filled with the chatter of students as Sabrina sat down at the table with her friends. But before she could take a bite, Beatrix Wilder appeared, her face twisted in anger. In an instant, Beatrix raised her hand, a glass of milkshake in her grip. She emptied the contents onto Sabrina's head, making a public display of her disdain. Leaning in close, Beatrix whispered in Sabrina's ear, her words dripping with venom, "You didn't listen to me before, so maybe you'll learn your lesson this time. With a smirk, Beatrix turned and walked away, leaving Sabrina dripping with milkshake and burning with embarrassment. Sabrina looked up at her friends, a mix of shock and anger on their faces. But she knew this was just the beginning. The tension between Sabrina and Beatrix was only going to escalate, and she wasn't sure if she was prepared for what was to come.
