“You’re sure no one’s watching or listening?” Ken asked, as he and Sean loaded their belongings into Jonah’s van.
Sean nodded, checking his portable detector. “Nothing electronic, and Pax is in guard mode, so if anyone tries to get too close he’ll let us know. Cox definitely didn’t try to break in. But then, he still might not know what you did.”
“What we did,” Ken retorted.
“Whatever. Let’s get out of here before he does find out.”
Not too much later, after they were back at Jonah’s house, he told them in no uncertain terms both of them would be staying the night there. “Then, in the morning, you’ll be moving out west to one of C21’s houses in Alastair’s territory.”
“But I need my…” Ken started to say.
“Tell me, and I’ll send someone to pick up things from your place,” Jonah said.
