1193 Words
Place is unknown. Inside a dark room only an old man and a veiled girl could be seen. Candlelights kept flickering inside the room dimly. The old man was sitting in a chair and the girl sat in the floor. " Grandfather, it's been so long but father and mother have yet to return. " The girl said in a slow voice. Each of her words were like melodies from heaven. " You shouldn't worry too much about them. They are the greatest hero of our realm and also one of the strongest. " The old man was silent for a while but eventually replied in a low tone. " Countless people died and even more is living in suffering and pain, when all of this will end? " The girl asked feeling aggrieved. " Life and death, pain and happiness are the natural course of life. This is fate. No one can escape fate, not you, not your father and mother and certainly not me. " The old man didn't answer her directly. " Even you grandfather? " She asked feeling a little astonished. In her mind her grandfather was the strongest being in existence she had ever seen. " In the grand scheme of things we all are just a spec of dust. " The old man chuckled and said. The girl stayed in daze for a while. She couldn't imagine the level of power her grandfather was talking about. With a crisp sound the two rusty lamp that had always been kept beside the old man suddenly exploded. " Nooo....." The girl stood up and cried out in anguish. The old mans eyes turned serious. He looked outside the window, his gaze pierced through time and space and fell into an unknown location. " Grandfather... grandfather... is.. father and mother alright? " She kept shaking the old mans hand. " Child you should go. This place isn't safe anymore. " Eventually the old man said, his voice was full of sadness. " Noo....i want to see father and mother.... please grandpa take me there..I know you can do it, why are you being like this? This isn't like you at all !" She shook her head violently. " Its not like i don't want to, but i can't. Child that place isn't somewhere you can go. Even i might not be able to protect you. Leave this place, I'll arrange things for you. " Crystal clear tear drops fell from her eyes. " I won't. How can i leave you behind when you are suffering alone in this chaotic world. " She said in a crying voice. Ground started to shake as if the destruction of the world was coming. The old mans hand trembled a little. " Child it's coming. This place won't last long. You are still young and have yet to see the beauty of heaven and earth. No matter how heartless i am, i won't let you die in this place which will eventually be swallowed by darkness. " The old man said staunchly. " Is there no way! " She bit her lips and asked. The old man kept silent. " There is a way but the chances are very little. " He said after thinking for a while. " What... what is it? I'll do anything please tell me grandfather. " She eagerly asked. " Search for one person. " The old man said solemnly. " A person? " She became confused. Her grandfather was one of the mightiest being among all the strongest existence, but now he said to search for a person in order to seek help. The darkness that keeps devouring the world she lives even her grandfather couldn't do anything about it but now someone else can help. It was almost unbelievable for her. " Yes, if that person appears we might be able to save this place." " Where can i find him and who is he? " She asked quickly. " That's the problem. Where is he? No one knows. Who is he? I'm afraid no knows. I don't even know if he is still alive or not. " The old man groaned a little and said. The girl felt confused but she quickly let go of her thoughts and asked in a panic. " Then what should we do? " " I'll send you to a place. If you are fated, you can find him there then it'll be alright and there's a question whether he'll help us or not. " " But...." She wanted to say something but the old man interrupted her. " Child i don't have much time. Keep this thing safe no matter what. " He gave her a broken tablet. She wanted to touch it but it turned into a stream of light and disappeared into her forehead. The old man touched her forehead, chanted a mantra, performing a strange mudra seal. Her forehead flickered with golden light then vanished without a trace. " Child go ." As the old man said this a bright immortal light wrapped the girl completely, it instantly pierced through the void and disappeared in the blink of an eye. ' Go and live a happy life. I your grandfather will now fulfil my role." The old mans eyes moistened a little. The old man took a step and disappeared. He arrived high above in the sky. It was not the same sky as everyone knows. The sky was pitch black. Night and day were all the same. A huge vortex appeared above the old man. It was so big that it might be able to devour the whole world in one gulp. From inside the vortex a faint outline of something could be seen. It kept descending slowly. It was a claw. An enormous claw. It seemed like it could tear this world apart with one s***h. The old man didn't flinch an inch. He stood in the sky proudly with his hands behind his back. " Where did you hide that thing? " A cold voice came from the darkness above. Gender couldn't be detected from its tone. It felt like the voice melted with the heaven and earth itself. " Even if i die a thousand time i won't tell you. " The old man said flatly. " I see. " As it said this, suddenly a strand of darkness shot in the distance and disappeared. " You...." The old man panicked a little and wanted to chase it but the giant claw came slashing down at him. Boundless pressure emanated from that one s***h as if it could even suppress the immortals and penetrate the heaven. The old man mightily swung his sword. Mysterious laws intertwined with each other and wrapped around the sword. Both side collided intensely. " Let's see how long can you stand. " The voice sounded again. The old man kept silent. He felt numbness in his hand. A fierce battle took place. Bottomless pits and black holes appeared everywhere they fought. Space melted and time stopped, the heaven and earth was torn asunder as the battle kept going.
