1801 Words
In the moonlit night, as the boat glided through the gentle waves, the island came into view, bathed in a mysterious glow. The twinkling stars above add an enchanting touch to the scene, making the sight even more captivating. The gentle wind blowing and Tiffany thought if not for the situation she is in she would have taken a million pictures by now. The ferry boat stopped and the men dragged her out of the boat, the water tugged at her feet, the waves guiding them towards the nearby shore. The boat remained close by, just a short distance away, while the sandy beach beckoned her with its inviting charm. If she wasn't bound she would have ran towards the boat and tried to escape. She had a little experience with boats from fishing with her father as a kid. All she could think of now is life ahead of her and what will become of her now. The men led her towards a paved pathway decorated with shells around the side and they arrived at the house standing tall in the heart of the island. It is a grand mansion, towering over the surrounding landscape. Its majestic facade exuded an air of elegance and opulence, with intricate architectural details that spoke of a rich history. A huge gate stands tall and proud, guarding the entrance to the magnificent mansion. The gate is adorned with intricate ironwork, showcasing elaborate patterns and designs. Its imposing presence commands attention, hinting at the grandeur that awaits beyond. As they approach the gate it automatically opens allowing them to pass through. As they pass through the gates, the night lights in the compound come to life, casting a soft, ethereal glow on the surroundings. The solar-powered lights are strategically placed, creating a mesmerizing pathway that winds through the estate. The gentle illumination emphasizes the vastness of the compound, making it feel like an ethereal and expansive space. Throughout the estate, strategically placed CCTV cameras keep a vigilant eye, their red blinking lights serving as a reminder of the property's security measures, Tiffany takes in every detail trying to plot an escape plan. The men led her towards a pathway through somewhere that looks like a garden. Tiffany notices that cameras are also placed around that area causing a numbness in her knees, she is instantly reminded of the fact that she had not eaten since the k********g and her stomach starts to rumble. The men must have heard or not but one of the men leading her who had a scar above his brows said "Seems she's hungry", in Spanish. "And how is that any of our business, our job is to deliver her safely. The rest is up to them", the other man replied. " I'm just thinking we could tell them" "Sergio, mind your business". Tiffany watched the two of them conversing not understanding a single word except grabbing that the man with the scar on his face is named Sergio. She really hoped they were talking about food or a way to help because that is all she currently needs. She wanted to speak but the tape over her mouth prevented her and before she knew it she found herself tumbling to the floor. **************************************************** The walls are painted a soothing shade of blue, creating a calm and serene atmosphere. The room is adorned with cozy furniture, including a plush sofa and a comfortable armchair. A large window with big bars barricading it to prevent escape. The room is adorned with tasteful decor, including vibrant artwork and potted plants, adding a touch of life and color to the ambiance. Tiffany wakes up staring at the ceiling and the art work of a cupid angel drawn on it. She sits up and notices that she's receiving a drip and the fresh scent of lemon hits her she notices a tray of food with tea by her bedside and she instantly pounce on it. The tray contains a plate of sizzling grilled chicken, perfectly seasoned and juicy. Next to it, a vibrant salad with fresh greens, colorful veggies, and a zesty dressing. There's also a bowl of steaming hot soup, filling the air with its comforting aroma. And for a sweet treat, a slice of decadent chocolate cake, topped with a dollop of creamy whipped cream and to wash it down with lemon tea. Tiffany is still eating when she notices someone sitting by the fireplace where the flickering flames in the fireplace cast a warm glow throughout the room, the presence of the unknown person adding a sense of tension to the room. Jake Reed watched her, while she was eating he noticed she did not know he was in the room, this gave him the chance to study her face well, her stunning silver hair that cascades down her shoulders, shimmering in the light. Her brown eyes are warm and inviting, reflecting a sense of depth. He's captivated by her every move, from the way she hurriedly lifts the fork to her lips to the expressions of pleasure that cross her face with each bite. There's a sense of curiosity in his eyes, as he's trying to decipher the hidden stories behind her enjoyment of the meal. He stopped staring at her lips when he noticed she had stopped eating and her eyes are now on him. Tiffany studies his face. He's got a head full of dark, lustrous hair, his piercing gaze, framed by a pair of intense eyes which one can't tell the colour from across the room, reveals a mix of determination and cunning. With sharp cheekbones and a chiseled jawline, his facial features exude confidence and authority. He is handsome, Tifanny thought. But she knew he was the one that bought her, he oozed of money. The both of them stared at each other for over a minute and Tiffany broke the staring contest by dropping her food tray on the floor and she watched him see it fall staining the carpet but Tiffany laid down on the bed turning her back to him. "Your name", Jake asked. But Tiffany ignored the question. "Your name", Jake asked again. He does not like getting ignored and this was starting to frustrate. Tiffany ignored again and did not even turn to face him but held the blanket up to her face. "When I ask you a question you answer",Jake said while yanking the blanket out her body. Tiffany saw that he was now only a few inches away from her, his huge body towering over her. "Maybe, if I wasn't taken against my will, I would. TAKE ME BACK HOME", Tiffany screamed in response. She is angered by the fact that he thinks he has the right to command her. "I did not take you from your home, I bought you at the market. If any take backs are happening, It's back to the market", Jake also screamed in response. He is known to be quick to raise in anger but mostly men are the ones that frustrate him to that extent, most women dote over him. She doesn't look like a kitten anymore, Cat's got back her tongue. "Market, that's what you call it uhmm, I did not willingly walk into the market, you must know that Mr 50 million, in which legal market are humans being sold?", Tiffany spat back. The next thing Tiffany felt as she finished speaking, a sudden slap landed on her cheek, catching her completely off guard. The room fell silent and she watched Jake walk out of the room. She is still in shock, No man has ever hit her before, not even her dad. She burst into tears not because of the pain she felt from the slap but she realizes no one can help her in this situation now. If something like someone hitting her had happened back when she was at home, she knew her dad would trace down the person and lock them up in jail. She gets off the bed, goes down on her knees to pray. "Dear Lord, I know I am a sinner. I know I have been far away from you for a while but please Lord, I need your help right now. Get me away from this situation and I promise to always serve you. Please Lord, please, In Jesus name. Amen". She got off her feet, went into bed and cried herself to sleep. ***************************************************** Jake stormed into his room, slamming the door in the process. He fumbled with the buttons on his clothes while fuming loudly. "Who does she think she is?How dare she talk to me in that manner".He said all these in Spanish. A knock sounded outside of the door. "Who is there?". "Sergio, sir". "Come in". Sergio stepped into the room but took off his shoes before entering. He was carrying a small box. Jake watched him walk towards where he was sitting, Sergio has been serving him for over seven years now and worked for him as a delivery man. He has carried out numerous deliveries for him and he even got the scar on his face from an accident on one of the deliveries. Jake respected him but not to the extent of trust. Jake Reed trusted no one. "What is that?", Jake asked in Spanish. "The girl's belongings which the market gave to us, sir". Sergio replied. "Drop it and leave". Sergio nodded and dropped the box on the reading table across the room and left. Jake watched Sergio walk out and after the door shut, he focused his eyes on the box. He was curious as to what could be inside and stood up from the arm chair he was sitting and walked towards his reading table. He sat down behind the desk and took the lid of the box. The first thing he saw was her phone, he knew the market would have turned it off to avoid tracking and he set that aside. The next thing he took out was a camera, he looked at it and also set it aside. He brought out her wallet next, the wallet is pretty colorful with all glitters and stickers all over it. "Childish", he said out loud. He opened up her wallet and he noticed some cash in it and also saw some coupons. How minimalistic, he thought. He then saw her driver's license. The picture on her driver's license struck him first, she is not naturally silver haired. The picture on the license reveals her with brown hair and she looked very different. She is from Chicago, Illinois and she is 27 years old. So this is the name she refused to say, as if he wouldn't find out, he thought. "Davies, Tiffany Davies" He said. "Tiff".
