I slung my bag over my shoulder and walked out. Since that route was clearly dead, Chloe decided to release everything Nolan had been hiding behind the scenes. Every rumor, every staged accusation, every person sent to ruin me had come from him. Public opinion turned almost overnight. Even so, the fraud allegations never fully disappeared.
