Rhage was pacing outside of the house when we pulled into the drive way. His head snapped to look over at the car and his medium length blonde hair bounced with the movement. His jawline looked sharper then when I last saw him, probably because his jaw was clenched with anticipation. I looked down at my feet, embarrassed that I checking him out when he was obviously stressed out, but man was his jawline sexy. My door flew open and my head snapped up to his Dark blue eyes, they drew my in like the ocean did. What is happening? Everything in my body screamed at me to get closer to him. The look on his face confused me, one minute his jaw was so clenched that it looked like he had blades for a jawline and next his had a possessive look in his eyes like he had when we were 8 and he met my brother. We paused and just stared at each other for a minute before he pulled me into a hug, my body tingled where his arms wrapped around me. "I'm so sorry I failed" he whispered nestling his face into my neck sending shivers down my spine. I pulled away curious what was happening between us and looked up into his eyes, his dark blue ocean eyes calmed and i could see right through them. Pain, he was in pain from my brother's disappearance. "It's ok we will find him I promise." I squeezed his forearms to help reassure him. Did he just relax a little? He nodded and stepped back to walk around the car to help me get my bags into the house. Where'd my mother go? I heard the front door open and saw my mom walking inside with a box in her arms, what's that?
"So how have you been for the past year?" Rhage asked following me inside the house. "It'sbeen hard, but I'm ok," I paused checking out all the change my mom and brother made to the house."Hard because I had to be away from Damian for so long, but ok because found my Guardian!" Rhage stiffened looking a little nervous, "Congrats Maze, but if you found your Guardian where is he?". "SHE," I corrected, he exhaled in relief, "Her name is Britney and she found her mate." I looked down and remember how sad and painful it was to leave her behind, but I knew it was for the best. I can't be selfish and ask her to come with me when she found her mate." I looked back up to see he was starting at me as if trying to read me, "well at least you found her and were protected while at your dad's". Getting turned around in my old house I no longer knew which room was mine since Rhage had moved into mine. Rhage moved past me brushing past my side and into my brother's room and dropped my bags down. "I figured you wouldn't mind
Me stealing your room since it was right next to Damian while you were gone. I hope that's ok" the look in his eyes told me he was worried that is wasn't ok, "Rhage it's totally cool, I'd rather stay in Damian's room until we get him back anyways" I smile up at him and he smiled back. F**k I want those lips on me, wait what, why am I this attracted to him now? "Settle in and we'll talk once you are done" Rhage came in for another hug except this one lasted longer. I don't want to let go, and neither does he. My head is on his chest and I slowly lift my head to look up at him already looking down at me. He leans down inches away from my face, just out of reach and breathed against my lips, "mine". No way, he just told me I'm his mate. My mind is overwhelmed with joy and confusion. "Maze" I nearly jumped out of my skin hearing my mom say my name. We let go of each other instantly and looked over at my mother horrified of her reaction. Rhage bowed his head to her and quietly slipped into my old room. "Mom, i-" she held up her hand to shush me and it worked. She slowly lowered her hand and a wicked grin stretched out across her face. Raising a brow I open my mouth but I can't form a sentence, "You've been chasing that boy since you were 8 years old, I guess someone found their mate." My mom started to silently giggle so Rhage wouldn't hear from the other room. "I thought it was impossible for a Gemini twin to ever find a 'mate' due to their twin bond?" I whispered to match her level of quietness. "Apperently it's not impossible" a glimmer of hope danced in my mother's amber gold eyes, she pulled my into a hug and kissed my head. "Goodnight Maze, I'm glad you're back home we've missed you" she winked at me and turned around to go to her room at the other end of the house. I watched her walk away thinking of how much i missed being home, I took a step back before swiveling around to walk into Damian's room.
I changed into an oversized t-shirt and some boyshorts, getting ready for bed I looked around my brother's room. The only thing that has changed is his photo wall, more have been added from this year. I smiled thinking about Damian and plopped onto his bed, the smile quickly faded knowing he wasn't here right now. I miss my best friend, my partner in crime, my twin. Eventually my eyes closed and I faded to sleep.
Darkness engulfed me from all around, the air seemed to be sucked from my lungs as I gasped for air. "Where am i?" Voices whispered around me all talking at once until the voices become one raspy tone and said "The Unseeeeeen". Immediately I try to scan my surroundings watching as black fog seemed to roll in around me "You can't have him" I said as boldly as I could. For some reason my voice seems to have power because the black fog split and revealed something to me. A diner? Stretched in bright red letters was 'Harry's Bed & Breakfast' but the seemed to flicker on and off until only four letters were left lit, 'H-e-r-e'. The only other part of the diner that was shown to my was the front which had 2 large window panels on either side of the double door entrance. I felt drawn to the entrance but why? "Maze" a single voice made it's way to be overheard from the rest of the whisperes that buzzed in the Unseen. "Damian?" I croaked out his name and I took a step closer to the diner. He is here, my feet quickly froze as soon as they started when a mangled scream ripped through the whisperes coming from the diner. A bloody hand smacked up against one of the large windows, Damian. "NOOOOOOO" I tried to run towards him but I couldn't I was dragged backwards farther and farther away.
