Chapter 2

Angelica’s POV He got here and sat across from me, and then he did something unthinkable. "I am sorry,", he stated in a low tone. Barely audible. "Pardon, please! I can’t hear you properly." "I am very nicely aware that you heard me,", he said in his historical boastful tone. "And I am not going to repeat myself,", he added. "Whatever", I muttered, and I was once about to stroll out but stopped with the aid of him, blocking my way. "What now?", I asked, getting barely irritated. "Don’t you dare to run from this wedding ceremony just like your sister," he ordered. Who is he to order me? "Listen, Mr. Arrogant, I am now not your slave who will comply with your order meekly," I spat. "I recognize you’re not. But you will have to comply with my orders.", He growled and took a step ahead while I moved backward. This persisted until my lower back hit the wall. He positioned each of his arms on both sides of the wall so that I couldn’t move. I may have wanted to experience his hot and minty breath, so I tried to act as boldly as I could. "You are going to see my wife." "So, better behave like one from now on," he said while his right hand moved the har that included my face in the back of my ear. "Exactly. Your wife, not your mate I am going to be just your wife, whom you will easily kick out of your existence after discovering your mate, simply like you werewolves do,", I hissed, pushing him away. I saw him open his mouth to say something, but he decided against it. He stared at me for a while before leaving my room. I positioned my hand over my heart, which used to pound loudly. I was trying hard to keep myself calm but couldn’t. Why did it used to be that way? I used to be mad at him for his conceited behavior, but I couldn’t remain mad at him. I knew it might sound clingy, but I felt I had regarded him for years. As if there had been some bond between us. Okay! Now reduce the crap! It used to be going too far. I ran my eyes down to my bed, where my mom’s diary was. I walked toward my mattress and picked up the diary. I softly touched it with a small smile on my face. After all, this diary had reminiscences of my mother's memories. I opened the first web page and should see my name in her handwriting: ‘For my princess, Angelica’. ‘Dear Lica, If you are reading this, then either you are getting married to some werewolf or you have determined to remain in the pack. And I can guess that the reply will be the first one, most probably. I always knew that you couldn’t remain away from your future, and I hate to inform you that your destiny belongs here, between the werewolves. I furrowed my eyebrows after reading that sentence, wondering why my mother would have written that. ‘Don’t get confused, my child. There are so many matters that I prefer to share with you, but I can’t, at least nat this phase, due to the fact that you are too small to understand them. However, now that you are analyzing this diary, I am positive that you are a grown-up woman. First of all, I favor you to forgive your father for the things he did to me due to the fact that I knew he didn’t ditch me intentionally. We have each been forced into marriage for the sake of our packs; however, we had already told one another at the very beginning that one would no longer stop the other if he or she found their mates. So, I would have carried out the equal which your father had finished if I had determined my mate again. ‘Again? What does she imply by means of that?" I wondered. I touched the paper where my mother had written this, and through touching it, I may want to inform you that she was crying whilst writing this. "I have never shared this with absolutely everyone before, but with this diary, I had discovered my mate." I gasped when I read that. I used to be genuinely now not looking forward to that to study this fact. But he was once killed in a rogue attack. My wolf couldn’t endure the loss of her mate, and even she left me alongside him." I re-read the whole lot twice, or, say, three times. ‘My wolf?’ "Does that mean that Mom was once no longer a human but a werewolf?" Oh, my God! ‘Why didn’t she share this with anybody before?" A lot of questions began filling in my thoughts; however, I had no answer to those questions until now. That’s why I began studying what else was once written in the diary. ‘All this passed off earlier than my wedding with your father. By the time I had gotten comfortable with him, he had already observed his mate, and by that time, he was no longer just my husband. So, I never had the hazard to share this with him. You are a very extraordinary child, Lica. That’s the reason I kept you away from the packs and the werewolves when you were a youngster, and one incident made you hate them, which worked to my advantage for that length of time, but now I prefer to clear this up. Everyone, including you, might reflect on themselves as humans, but I am positive you won’t. My eyes widened when I read that. It is possible that I have lived all my existence in a lie. I grew to want to study more; however, I observed that the next few pages had been torn, and thereafter the pages had been empty. ‘What the hell!" I muttered in frustration. I picked up the diary in anger and walked back to my room to talk with Mr. William. Correction: not "talk but ask" about the lacking pages. "Are you going to speak with my mate about this?" I heard the traumatic voice of my stepmother the moment I stepped out of my room. I appeared at her first and then toward her hand, the place she was once pointing, and found a few papers. "It belongs to me," I said, stepping ahead to take these papers from them, but she pulled her hand away. "I know, however, that I will provide it to you after the marriage." "But… "But I have already agreed to the marriage." I tried to get those papers as quickly as possible because I was determined to examine what else was written in them. "You have agreed to the marriage, just like my daughter; however, you can run away from it, just like her." "So, get inside, and now you will come out of your room solely at the time of the marriage." Saying this, she pushed me inside my room and locked it from outside. I wanted to bang on the door and shout loudly, but I knew it would be of no use. It’s her pack, and her orders would be followed here. Also, now that I had already decided to marry that arrogant Alpha, I would ask for those pages after the marriage. ‘A little persistence would do no harm, right?" I asked myself, but didn’t get any response in return. ‘Is it feasible that I should be a werewolf? But I am already 23 years old. A werewolf shifts on their 18th birthday. Or maybe simply because my mother’s wolf had left her earlier than my birth, turning her into a human, even I ought to be a human?' I kept wondering about all the possibilities. I didn’t realize that it was already evening until I heard the door of my room getting opened, and a few unfamiliar faces walked into my room with the wedding ceremony robe and the make-up. I couldn’t believe that this was genuinely happening. After an hour of work, with all stated and completed, I was ultimately equipped for my wedding. It sounded so abnormal because it was once something beyond my wildest imagination. When I came again after 17 years, I had no idea that I would be an Alpha’s Last Minute Bride.
