Ryder’s POV
I couldn’t express my happiness when I lifted my gaze from the ground and felt a rush of emotion swirl straight to my coronary heart as my mate made her way down the aisle all dressed up in a pretty white wedding gown.
The wedding gown they had chosen for her was once ideal for her figure, and it left me wondering whether or not they had already planned this whole incident or if they had planned her marriage to anyone else who was once not me.
I felt instantaneous rage at that thought.
‘Okay, fine! Don’t start questioning all these dull thoughts. My wolf suggested "Our mate appears so lovely in her wedding ceremony gown." He brought it, and I couldn’t help myself from agreeing with him.
I tried to hide any more emotions from my face as Angelica reached close to me.
‘Her name is too long. How about we call her ‘Angel’?
‘Not bad. I appreciated it.
‘Our mate, our angel’, he stated, and the whole time my eyes were on her. Her hands were on her father's, and her eyes were on the ground.
Not as soon as she seemed my way. Well, what else may I expect from a bride who was once blackmailed to marry?
Her father didn’t appear completely satisfied as he let go of her fingers so that she might want to stand opposite me. Nor her stepmother. Talking about my family, even they didn’t seem happy at all.
Why?
Because half of them thought that I was getting married to a weak human just for the sake of the pack.
While others had been feeling sorry for my mate due to the fact they knew what variety of individual I was!
Angel? On the other hand, I couldn’t figure out what she was once thinking or feeling, and she was once the one I certainly desired to recognize.
Did any section of her desire this wedding to happen?
And has it to be counted to me?
"Please maintain her hands,", the father ordered. Angel forwarded her fingers toward me, and I didn’t waste a single second holding them.
The spark ran all around my physique when her small, warm hand clasped around mine.
I knew even she should experience the feeling; however, simply because I was once an Alpha, the feeling was ten times stronger than any human.
As the ceremony started, my wolf began dancing in joy due to the fact that this time he was geared up for the wedding, not like yesterday; he was simply completely satisfied today.
"I do"
"I do"
And with these two words, I finally acquired my mate, who is now my wife.
It sounds so good.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife." "You may additionally kiss the bride!"
My body used to be excited, and I felt over the moon after listening to this.
Kiss the bride!
I prefer to kiss her senselessly, but I study her discomfort. I was no longer sure whether it used to be an exact concept or not. She wasn’t looking at me once, as if she were warding off my eyes for some reason.
I hated that.
She needed to look at me the same way I was looking at her. I was compelled to say it as soon as I could as my eyes landed on her stunningly red lips.
I tried to make her look at me by lifting her chin and veil, but she had already closed her eyes.Nope!
This is not taking place! She needs to appear to be looking into my eyes if I'm going to kiss her.
"Angelica, open your eyes."Upon my command, she completely stopped moving and slowly opened her deep-blue, ocean-clear eyes.
Her eyes were silent as well as dangerous at the same moment, just like the ocean.I suddenly tightened my hold on her waist with my other hand and kissed her.
I should have sensed that she wasn't ready for it at first, so I quickly withdrew from her.
The fact that I didn't want everyone to know that I had been into her since the first day and that she was my partner served as another reason for me to distance myself from her.
The moment the father said, "You may also mark your Luna, Alpha Ryder," my wolf's level of happiness increased as my pack members howled with joy.
But when we both detected dread and worry in our mate, my wolf's excitement subsided.
Everyone should be able to tell by looking at her that she is standing confidently and without worry, but this was once far from the truth.
I clinched my jaw, furious that my initial instinct had been to put an end to her suffering and terror.
We need to give her some time, although I would prefer to mark her right now.I said, "I was going to say the same," and we both nodded sympathetically in agreement.
After all, our friend had dealt with a lot of issues in just one day.
I broke the silence by saying, "I am not going to mark her." I wanted to add, "At least, not any longer now," but my enormous ego prevented me from doing so.
"Take everything you need from your room. I told her with a poker face that my wolf was reprimanding me: "We are leaving for our house in 30 minutes."You need to have made these remarks in a kind manner.‘Whatever.’
***
I became aware that something was awry as the half-hour countdown was about to come to an end. The perfume of Angel wasn't as powerful as it had been thirty minutes earlier.
She couldn't have left right here after our marriage, so that couldn't be true.Even my wolf started to become restless."Ryder, I wanted to talk to you about your wife.
When she noticed my look, my aunt stopped questioning me, asking, "Why did you?" "Son, what happened?"I said, trying to keep my wolf and I focused on her scent, "I'm not sure.
" By the way, Aunt, have you been saying anything lately?"Was getting married to a human essential?"I said, "Yes, it was for our family reputation."
She could have wanted to ask a few more questions, but I was already headed to her room to look for her. The final detail I can recall is that I had asked her to retrieve some items from her room.
As I ascended the stairs two at a time, my heart used to race. The closer I got, the more anxious I became. I must be able to hear her if she's in there, or at the very least, her aroma would hit me much more directly than previously. All of that wasn't happening before.
I quickly slammed open the door and looked around the space. You could have quietly opened the door. My wolf tried to calm me down, saying, "Now that everyone is staring at your anger and behavior, they'll see that our angel is no longer here."Not a single word.
Not a word."Angelica?" When I didn't hear a response when I called her name, I yelled at her and stormed into the bathroom.
I looked around and saw a rope composed of bedsheets and drapes that had been flung out the window.
I made sure the rope was almost on the ground. As soon as the wolf's wisdom and composure vanished, he started boiling in rage like I did.
I braced my lower back while maintaining a firm fist at my sides as I punched the wall.He growled angrily, "She shouldn't have run away from us.
" I wasted little time jumping out of the window.I noticed our mate was gone after giving the air a sniff.
I smirked and said, "Bad move, angel," before transforming into a massive silver wolf and heading in the direction of our mate, following her scent.
