Alpha Alex pov

I rush to my former office that my son now occupies. I had been mind linked something had happened to Ethan. I sent Jenny on ahead who said he had fainted but appeared to be resting peacefully. I walked in to find him asleep on the couch in his office. “Jenny report” I demand examining the desk I could clearly see he had been sitting at prior to his fainting spell. My son has never shown interest in alcohol, but a parent never really knows even when that child is an alpha.”

“Father, I mean Alpha, he was sitting working on paperwork making plans to travel with his gamma to other packs in search of our Luna. His gamma was informing him of rumors about that princess. When Gamma hunter explained he complained with immense pain and feel into slumber, sir.”

“Gamma Hunter Explain.”

“Sir I was addressing your concern of his mate being the crown princess telling him theories and rumors on my witch up bringing sir. He was explaining why he believed his mate was in another pack and was making plans to travel amongst your return. We had a heated discussion sir in regard to my being a hybrid. He thought I was lying about a rumor that Vampire princess Jasamine having a twin sister that was kept in the witch coven He was laughing. I had finished my explanation when he clutched his chest. He fell I took him to the couch sir. I mind linked for help but he had lost conscience. This all began about two hours maybe a little more sir.”

“How long has he been unconscious?”

“About forty five minutes”

“Father, Alpha” Jenny had a puzzled expression.

“Yes”

“The display at the vampires castle.”

“Was about two hours ago.”

“Do you think they bewitched us to get to Ethan through our bond. This reeks or witchcraft.”

“Jenny the vampires have enough going on. We have bigger problems too. No, I think this is a personal problem.”

“How so father, He doesn’t drink. So, if you’re thinking he is drunk…” She is stroking her brother’s chocolate locks back out of his face.

I cut her off. I did have suspicions but being drunk wasn’t one of them, “of course not. “He is an Alpha. Not just any Alpha but the Lycan king. His wolf is stronger than most. I think, although he doesn’t think so, I feel strongly that Melanie is his mate. He was feeling her powers come and for some reason leave. Also, I think her distress after is what caused his fainting.”

“So, you think his Lycan Zeus was reaching out to his mate. That would mean he could sense her. He was nowhere near her isn’t that impossible?”

“When their ceremony happened, you felt her aura.” I reasoned “It was so strong it put everyone on their knees even the Queen.”

“Well, it’s completely possible Zeus as powerful as he is could have sensed her awakening and it could have created pain when her powers were taken back. The pain she felt.” I rubbed my face, “Two powerful beings like them mated together would have an equally powerful bond. it is entirely possible he could have felt her and taken some of the discomfort because of it.”

“That is one hell of a theory.” Hunter stood back to the wall.

“Well, the only wat to know is to introduce them” Jenny says.

“Best to leave it alone, he is sure she isn’t his mate. Fate works in mysterious ways. I have to believe the Goddess will bring them together went the time is right for both. For now lets let no one outside this room know about this could it be potentially dangerous if we are right.”

Ethan pov

Present

I held her while she recounted having the power come and go. All I could think about was how cruel that was. She also recounted having her room taken and being thrown in the attic. My wolf was seething mad, I had to stifle a growl as she spoke about being made to serve her brother and her sister like a common slave. Even our omega was treated better than she described. Also, how her grandma had been nonexistent in her life since the ceremony. Id like to smack the s**t out of Velma. Id like to rip her head off her shoulders. Zeus commented. “I am so sorry Babe. that You had to deal with that, but you are here now with me and you have a new beautiful life and you are the Luna and a Queen.”

“Ethan really I am not.” She blushed the sweetest rose color gracing her cheeks and neck.

“Even if we can’t make your powers show themselves to take your throne back, you will still be the Lycan Queen and Luna to the Blood moon pack.” He shot her a dazzling smile.

“If they will accept me, I do my best.”

“They will trust me” He grabbed my hand and led me toward the door. “Ya knows Melanie when we first met.”

“You thought I was an ordinary human.” She blushed.

“No, well kind of but that wasn’t what I was gonna say. When we first me you mentioned my father.”

“Yes, Alpha Alex was very kind to me.”

“He always thought or homed we would be mated, and it would appear I owe him a serous apology”

“An apology?”

“yes, and you one as well”

“How so”

“If I would have had my head on straight and listened to him then I would have been there on your birthday. When your powers didn’t show. I could have been there to support you and whisk you away. He was very adamant you would be my mate but I had so much frustration and anger at the blackheart family for blaming my pack and kingdom for the death of uncle Vince that I refused..”

“Uncle?”

“I was very close to your dad he was my dad’s childhood friend.”

“Oh well that explains it. Your dad introduced his self as my God father” She giggled.

“I haven’t told my dad I found my mate because he is going to be so happy. I wanted him to find our when you were here.”

“I see Ehtan, I understand you not coming all those years ago, I think you need to apologize to me for crying out loud I was only thirteen.” She smiled.

“No, that why I should say sorry to dad. To you because I was so convinced my mate couldn’t possibly be a vampire much less a blackheart I began to travel in search of my mate. Visiting local packs and some in other places. I never around with anyone I saved myself for you much to the chagrin of some she wolves and others, but I did. However, I did go on dates a few. I was clear to them that I had no plans to take a chosen I only wanted my fated. That we were only friends going out to pass the time. I’m sorry and hope you do not hate me.”

“Of course, not Thank you for not going you know all the way with someone else, but you were really young when you took on all these responsibilities and stuff it had to be hard on you and especially being alone.”

“I was thirteen, usually an alpha mates within a year I was young though four years younger than most so those type of impulses didn’t come until much later. Until I was about sixteen seventeen then Zeus began howling about his mate. We had to go to balls and parties and social stuff, and it can be overbearing without having someone there with you so I would find someone that I explained I only wanted company and friendship strictly platonic to go with me. Are you mad?”

He looked like a he was so worried to her, “No, I love you Ethan Blood moon.”

He was relieved, “And I love you Melanie Blackheart” we were standing in the front o two very large double doors that burst open just as he was about to kiss her perfectly killing the moment.

Melanie pov

“Ehtan son I smelled…” HE teared up looking at me wrapped up in Ethans embrace. “Melanie darling”

“Alpha Alex” I lowered my head trying to take an ineffective step away from Ethan who only held me tighter.

“Don’t you dare start that Alpha business again” He pulled me out of Ethans arms and into his own “Come here child.”

“Sophia” He yelled out “Come see.”

“Father” he touched his shoulder “Calm down and let her breath.”

“Is that?” A woman with long dark chocolate hair the same as Ethans came in her vivid Brown eyes over shown with shock. “You look so much like you mother” she hugs me pulling me away from Alex.

“It is a pleasure to meet you Luna Blood moon.”

“I am not the Luna anymore and you are family. Ethan from the smell of you two being all over each other I have to ask, is she? Are you two? I mean have you found…” Ethan cut of her stuttering.

“Yes, mom, dad I’d like you to meet officially my mate, your daughter in law and your queen and Luna Melanie Blackheart future blood moon.” He said with pride oozing from every inch of him, pulling me back to his side.

His mom screamed and began to cry, and his dad already had proud tears streaking his face. “Thank Goddess, I always knew you were to be my daughter.” She said with the biggest smile hugging me once more. “Son, I know you want to show her off and around the pack today but since she is your mate we have a lot to discuss”

“I understand father, but we are keeping things quiet and slow for the moment she is trying to understand her powers we think they are dormant. She also has feared the pack won’t accept her.”

“They will be overjoyed but very well we will call a pack meeting first. Then after Melanie returns, which I hope is tomorrow, we shall talk about the next step. Now how long has it been since you found her.”

“A while okay and I know you were right.”

“Son” HE cleared his throat giving his mom a curious look. I could feel the room grow with tension, but I didn’t’ know why. “After an alpha couple find each other, it is only about four to six weeks or so before the female goes into heat. That is why it is so common for an alpha couple to be completely mated very quickly.”

“But she isn’t a wolf nor a Lycan.”

“I know but vampire and witches have their version too. It’s to enhance the race son. Call it a safety net for the Goddess that her matches will produce for the next generation. By my calculations her cycle or phases as Queen Victoria used to call it should happen within the next two weeks” His mother whispered.

“Melanie, can you manage to be away from the castle and here please by the next full moon. A week from now bring what you need we will protect you.”

“Why would she go back to the castle she is your mate and our queen?” Sophia asks.

“I haven’t told them, yet I am afraid of starting a problem and I may need the resource at the castle to find out about my gifts or lack of gifts.” I looked at the floor and this was uncomfortable. “IF I came here to stay, I would never be able to go back.”

“Mel, you want to stay there?” Ethan as with a tremble in his voice.

“Well, no not really but at least it’s a place to live better than being homeless.”

“What?” HE all but roared I took a step back out of reflex I know he would harm me.

“Hey, I am sorry “HE immediately softened “It… I… I mean…” He stuttered.

“I think what my son is asking is why would you be homeless? Melanie,” She took my hands “You are home right now. This is you pack and once Ethan Marks you, Any pack ground in this entire realm will be yours. You are the destined Luna Queen. Your will never be homeless” Ethan was whimpering from the corner of the room. I couldn’t see him because Sophia was standing between us.

“Alpha, “ A voice called out, the voice sounds so familiar. “Is everything alright we all felt panic from you sir?” ask the voice.

“Yes Gamma HE is fine” Alex tells him, “Jut having some issues with his mate.”

The voice was getting closer it seemed he had been talking from the other room, “Alpha Ethan you found our Luna and you didn’t’ tell anyone?” His footsteps got closet and he sniffed the air.

“Wait a minute I know that scent. “Melanie” He turned, and Sophia released my hands stepping to the side.

“My princess” the tall man wasn’t as big as Ethan or his dad but was still huge was dressed in ball shorts and t shirt that seemed too small hit his knees bowing in front of me. “You have returned” he knelt but looked up at me smiling with a hint of tears.

“Hunter Black Raven” I whispered “Get up” her rose and embraced me earning a small growl from Ethan. Which I ignored “You are Ethan’s Gamma I knew you were a wolf hybrid but with you gifts I thought you would stay with the coven.”

“After you left, Jesse began training for her council witch seat. Her overall appearance changed,”

“Oh, my Goddess, Jesse owl feather. How did I not Recognize that name? and Ethan?” I turn to him, “Grams she has messed with my memory. My Goddess, she took me to her chambers, and it had been enchanted, Jesse was there but I didn’t know her. They touched my hands, and I blacked out. Why would she do this? And why by seeing you would these memories come back to me” I began to cry. How could Gram’s toy with my mind like this? What good did it do to make me forget pieces of my childhood? My mind was racing a hundred miles per m inure. It wasn’t enough to let my brother and sister be little me and control me was it not enough to have me stripped of my title.

“Babe calm down” Ethan’s voice brought me from my thoughts, he looked scared.

“Ethan what’s wrong?” I look at Hunter and Alex “With all of you?” Ethan points to my hands. My hands are glowing. “Oh my Goddess what the hell” The light disappears. I keep flipping my hands over and back looking at my palms and then at the tops again.

“Perhaps” Alex clears his throat “Its best to continue this reunion in your office son.”

“Ethan grand my hand and led me up the stairs to a large door and opened it as everyone flies in closing the door behind them. “This is a fluke I am powerless.”

“Mel” Ethan pulls me on to his ola behind his desk, “This was what I was talking about we can sense your powers. WE wanted to speak to the elders because of it. now you saw proof of it you are not powerless.”

“Melanie, I was there when your powers came and for some reason didn’t. I felt your power you are nothing other than powerless. I am not sure, but I have a theory of why all this is happening now and why. Your powers didn’t come earlier.”

“Father” Ethan glared.

“Oh, come on, now Ethan, you have to realize now that my theory has merit.”

“Seriously again”

“Is princess Melanie Blackheart real? Is she the eldest daughter of king Vincent sr and Queen Victoria Blackheart? IS she your fated Mate?” Alex paced and ask the questions more like rhetorical lecture but I kept shaking my head yes earning a pleasing smile from him.

“Yes, Father she is” Ethan growled.

“Then my theory has merit, yes” HE glared back at Ethan.

I felt like father and son was getting ready to ball up, “Ethan, my life has been a roller coaster flipped completely upside down so many times that I am not sure which was is up anymore. My family and even my people have been playing games with my mind. I was raised to be queen of witches and vampires, built up from birth for my powers for them never to appear.” I get up and began to pace much like Alex had a minute ago. “I have been stripped of my title crown princess and made a servant. My parents died and the person taxed with caring form us uses her powers to erase my memories.” I repeat more to myself. “I had forgotten my cousin my friends” I glance at Hunter, “No wonder she was shocked to see me. I had forgotten potion making was my favorite. All my days at the coven was hazy now I remember them clearly.” I went to hunter gathering his hands in my earning another growl from across the room, “Hunter was my best friend growing up. I had forgotten you. It was like a door being opened in my mind. Ethan” I turn back to him “If your father Alex, Alpha” I turn to him, “I remember you vaguely its fuzzy. I was little last time I saw you” He just nodded with tears in his eyes, “You and Luna Sophia” She clasp her hands to her mouth. “You brought me a doll that played music,”

“Yes, Mi amour” Sophia smiles and I smile back at her calling me her love.

“If he has any idea no matter how extortionary to explain why any of this happened or is happening. I am open to it Ethan.”

Ethan extends his hand to me and pulled me up into his lap putting his face in the crook in my neck. “Okay father I am sorry. My Queen has spoken.” He breaths in my scent. Everyone in the room looked petrified.

“What” I ask.

“He apologized” Hunter said. “The Lycan king apologizes for nothing and no one.”

I giggle. “Alex, please” I change the subject cause I felt Ethan tense below me.

“On your birthday you remember my daughter had left to alert everyone you had crossed our boarder, and I followed you to the garden in the park.”

“Yes, you said she was alerting everyone to my presence an that I could come back whenever I wanted.” I snuggled closer to Ethan.

“Well, that and Ethan had fainted while having some uncommon pain for a wolf. Hunter and I discussed the timing int happened about the time the light disappeared leaving you on stage fangless.”

Ethan raised his head, “How did I not know this”

“Because you stubborn ass. You refused to let me talk about it.” HE replied shortly.

“Sorry dad”

“Holy goose feathers!!!” Hunter squalled from the corner, “He said sorry and dad not father twice in the same hour. I am loving this thank God for the Luna”

Ethan growled and I giggled, “Fathe carryon and ignore him.”

“Now I have studied books even traveled to other places looking for information about a month ago give or take a young witch came with an official seal from Velma Black heart. The seal was permitted to travel across the kingdoms and realms showing all rulers that an ally need assistance. She was asking to see our libraries and to speak to our elders.” Ethan sat forward.

“Why is the alpha just heard this.” He was getting mad.

“Because the alpha was preoccupied and left me in charge while he was, he was looking for his mate elsewhere.” Alex snapped.

That made Ethan relaxes, and his guilt was apparent to everyone I pecked his cheek, and he gave me a sad smile.

“What was she looking for?”

I spoke to the elders and the librarians she was researching your little dilemma also because of this I figure that my theory is not far off. However, I think I am a step closer than they are or I hope so.”

“What do you Melanies dilemma?”

“She was researching how Velma Blackhearts granddaughter and the eldest born could be powerless. Elder Ryan knowing my history with the Blackheart and knowing I had been researching myself passed some of the information to me. She told the elders that Melanie had shown signs of powers, blasted her back actually she believes the something I did that you are the legendary blessed one that out elders have spoken about for centuries.”
