Okoro's expression turned somber as he began to reveal a shocking family secret. "Ikenna, you don't know the whole story about our family's past," he said, his voice low and serious.
Ikenna's eyes narrowed, intrigued. "What are you talking about, Okoro?" he asked.
Okoro took a deep breath before continuing. "Our family's feud with Nneoma's family... it's not just about tradition and culture. There's something more to it, something that could change everything."
Nneoma's curiosity was piqued, and she leaned forward, eager to hear more.
Okoro glanced at her before focusing on Ikenna. "Our families were once united, Ikenna. Our ancestors were friends, and our families intermarried. But something happened, something that drove our families apart."
Ikenna's eyes widened as he realized the implications. "What happened, Okoro?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Okoro's expression turned grim. "A tragedy, Ikenna. A tragedy that has haunted our families for generations."
