Episode 8: "The Tragic Past"
Okoro's words hung in the air, leaving Ikenna and Nneoma eager to know more about the tragic past that had driven their families apart.
Okoro took a deep breath before continuing. "It happened many years ago, when our ancestors were still alive. A young woman from our family fell in love with a man from Nneoma's family. They wanted to get married, but their families refused to approve."
Nneoma's eyes widened as she listened to the story. She couldn't believe that her family's past was so intertwined with Ikenna's.
Okoro's expression turned somber. "The young lovers decided to run away together, but they were caught by their families. In the ensuing conflict, the young woman was killed."
Ikenna's eyes flashed with anger. "Who killed her?" he demanded.
Okoro's voice was barely above a whisper. "It was Nneoma's ancestor. He was furious that his daughter had disobeyed him, and in a fit of rage, he killed the young woman."
Nneoma felt a wave of shock wash over her. She couldn't believe that her family's past was marked by such violence and tragedy.
The episode ended with Ikenna and Nneoma looking at each other, both of them reeling from the revelation. They knew that their families' past was complicated, but they had no idea it was this tragic.
As the scene faded to black, Nneoma's mind was racing with questions. How could her ancestor have done such a thing? And how would this revelation affect her relationship with Ikenna?
