Agleria's POV
***
I had finished getting dressed and was sitting on the side of the bed waiting for Levious who had just come out of the bathroom.
"Levi... I've prepared your favorite green tea. I measured it myself because only I know what kind of tea you like and how many spoons of green tea to put in it."
I saw a confused expression on Levious's face. I knew he didn't want me to love him too deeply, but I had promised myself that I would try to get my husband's attention within three months. If Levious still didn't love me, then I would have to leave everything to fate.
According to our agreement, if I gave birth to a daughter, I would have to leave the Geeser pack and return to the Mevola pack. I didn't want to be counted as one of his brother's wives or their concubines even after a divorce.
“Thank you, Luna.”
Levious sat on a chair near the balcony. There was a medium-sized table with many important letters from other packs. The king began reading the first letter while drinking the green tea I had made.
I stood beside Levious and read the first letter received by the king. While living in the Geseer pack, I always did things like this and many other things until Levious showed signs of interest in me.
I didn't know if this would work, but I would keep trying to make Levious love me as his wife.
“Levi... Are you busy tonight?” I asked while Levious was reading the fifteenth letter. From the first letter to the fourteenth, they only contained congratulations on his brother's marriage.
“Do you want to invite me to ‘sleep’ together?” asked Levious without looking at me, his green eyes still fixed on the paper.
I shook my head. “No, Levi. I want you to show me around the palace. I've been here for several days, but I don't know much about this palace yet.”
“I thought you wanted to invite me to ‘sleep’ together.” Levious looked at me standing next to him with an expression that seemed to say, ‘I'm not joking’.
At that moment, I became awkward. I bit my lip before answering Levi. “If you want, we can do that after touring the palace.”
“Sure,” Levious replied briefly.
Levious stopped at the fifteenth letter and then left the balcony. He gathered the remaining letters and put them in the nightstand drawer.
“Where are you going?” I asked as Levious walked towards the door.
He stopped right in front of the open door. “I want to meet with the pack advisor.”
“Shouldn't you say goodbye to me first?”
Levious furrowed his brow. “Goodbye? What for?”
“So I won't worry when you're suddenly not in the room.”
“I already told you earlier that I was going to meet with the pack advisor.”
"I know, but you told me that because I asked. I want you to tell me first before I ask."
Levious was silent for a few seconds then nodded slowly. “Sure.”
The brown door closed again as usual, and I began to wait for Levious in my room until sunset. I was dressed appropriately for our evening out around the palace, a dark blue dress that reached down to my ankles.
I would wait for Levious in this room, but he never came.
“Did he forget?” I wondered to myself as I looked at the clock. It was now midnight and it was impossible for them to be touring the Geeser pack palace this late.
I was sad. I wanted to be angry, but I felt it was inappropriate to be angry at Levi for something like this. He might think that I am too obedient as a wife and that I am ruining all his plans.
“If Levi wants to sleep with me, shouldn't he come here, even if it's in the middle of the night?”
I started to feel sleepy and finally decided to lie down without changing my clothes. I still thought that Levi would come home soon, at least he would come back even if we didn't go around the palace.
But all those wishes vanished when I woke up in the morning. It turned out that Levious hadn't come home all night, and I didn't know where my husband was now.
“Breakfast for you, Luna.” An omega came into the room and handed me a tray of breakfast. "The pack advisor said that starting tomorrow, you have to have breakfast with the wives of King Levious's brothers, Luna. You should be allowed to show your face to them, as well as introduce yourself as King Levious's wife.
“I'll do it starting tomorrow.”
I watched the omega place the tray on a teak chair in the middle of the room, then called her as she was about to leave the room. “Can I ask you something?”
The omega turned around and nodded. “Sure, Luna. What do you want to ask?”
“King Levious didn't come home last night. Before he left, he said he wanted to meet with the pack advisor. Do you know where King Levious is now?”
The omega raised her eyebrows slightly. “You don't know? King Levious suddenly fell ill and he is now in a special room for healers.”
“Ill?” I asked in panic.
My appetite vanished instantly when I heard the news that Levi was sick. How could I be the last one to know that my husband was sick?! Even the omega found out before I did.
“Is there anything you’d want, Luna?”
I shook my head slowly and let the omega leave me alone. At that very moment, I tried to get ready to leave the room and head to the healer’s private room. I wanted to visit my husband there.
Just as I was about to open the door, Levious was already standing there with a pale face and a blank expression.
I was still panicking. “What happened to you, Levi?” I immediately checked Levious’s body temperature with the back of my hand. His body temperature still felt normal, both on his forehead and neck.
“Levi… You don’t have a fever.”
“I don’t have a fever,” replied Levious, who had now taken a few steps inside after locking the room door. “I’m just dizzy and my body feels a little sore… I also feel nauseous and sometimes vomit.”
“Maybe you’re just too tired from—”
“Everything I’m feeling right now is a effect of your pregnancy, Luna.”
My eyes widened in shock. Pregnant? That sounded impossible given that we’d only been married for a little over a week. There was no way I could be pregnant just over a week after we’d decided to sleep together.
“Are you pregnant?”
Levious’s question left me even more confused. It was so sudden and a bit sensitive. “What do you mean? Why are you suddenly asking something like that?”
“The healer told me. So... Are you pregnant, Agleria?” Levious asked for the second time, his tone colder.
