1159 Words
Lucas spent an entire thirty minutes trying to convince his grandmother, Darcy, that Mia and Emma were two different persons. They were seated now but that didn't stop his Grandma from giving Emma side glances throughout the dinner, he even caught her glare at him. “How did you two meet,” Darcy suddenly asked. Emma panicked for a second. she wanted to ask Lucas what she was going to say if that question was thrown at her but he gave her the silent treatment throughout their ride here. Lucas turned to look at Emma, he gently took her hands in his and kissed them softly. “We met at a bar, one look at her and I knew she was the one for me,” he replied confidently, returning his gaze to his Grandmother. Emma lost herself in his act for a second, she would have believed him if she hadn't been entangled in everything, she wasn't prepared for all that was happening. “Hmmm, A bar really… And you already got married,” Darcy scoffed, pointing to the rings. “She’s the one for me so I don't see any point in wasting so much time… I love her so much.” Lucas replied, the entire time his eyes on Emma. Emma knew after all that his Grandma was going to be a tough nut to c***k, she hadn't really changed. She was still the same as she was seven years ago. “I love him too,” Emma replied, her eyes darted to his eyes then his lips, she wanted to get a reaction out of him, her hand found his knees and she trailed her hands over it. He wasn't the only one who could flirt, she could do it too. For a second she saw desire flash through Lucas’s eyes and he grinned. At this point, Darcy was invincible to them. They only had eyes for each other. Lucas leaned in “Let's not do that here, love.” He said it a little too loud for Darcy to hear. Lucas was ready to do anything just to make her believe him. He wanted his grandma to leave him alone. She liked being in control so much that she wanted to control his entire life. He was so done with her. The chair scraped against the tile and they darted their eyes to Darcy, she had a frown etched on her face, and she was glaring at Emma again. “ Excuse me,” she gritted her teeth, walking out of the room. Outside the room… Darcy hadn't expected get grandson to show up with a woman, she had thought he was lying earlier when he had said that he was married. She wanted to confirm it, so she called Carla. “Carla did you know when Lucas got married to a woman named Emma,” she questioned immediately after the call got connected. Carla grunted in response, “ I met her yesterday in Lucas’s office when I went to see him.” “She looks suspicious and I don't like her at all, I only want you to be Lucas’s bride and not anyone else.” “But Grandma Lucas doesn't want me, he hates to see me,” Clara sobbed. “No way, wipe your tears. I won't accept anyone else. You are perfect for my grandson, I want you to come over now, I will only give my blessings if he chooses to get married to you and no other person.” “Yes Grandma, I'll be there soon,” Clara replied. There, she had Lucas's grandma wrapped around her finger so there was no way he was going to get the freedom to get married to another woman except her. She was the only one fit to bear Anderson's last name. Darcy walked back into the room and she glanced at her grandson and his supposed wife. “What stunt was he pulling now?” she pondered. She knew that there was no way that Mia would end up alive, she had gotten rid of her seven years ago. So who was this lady that came with him as his wife, where did she come from? “I am expecting another guest, she’ll be here soon,” she said as soon as she got to her seat. Lucas looked over to his Grandma, he could guess that it was Clara whom his grandma had called over, she just wanted to spite him. He opened his mouth to ask her why she had invited Clara to a family dinner but he couldn't even get any words out before the door opened to reveal Clara. “Grandma I missed you,” She rushed over and hugged Darcy tightly. She went over to Lucas’s side to hug him but one look at his face and she changed her mind and she dropped her hands disappointed at Lucas’s reaction. Emma, who noticed their interaction giggled immediately, she knew that Lucas had never liked Clara, he just always tolerated her because of his Grandma. Clara was just a rich opportunistic b***h in her opinion. Darcy glared immediately she heard her giggle, “Who do you think you are to laugh at Clara that way,” “Do you think you've got any right to yell at her like that, I don't know where Lucas found you but Clara here, is his wife, and the only one Lucas is going to marry,” Darcy yelled. “It's okay Grandma, Lucas is just angry at me he's going to leave her soon I'm sure,” Clara whined. Lucas shook his head listening to her, for all he knew she must have schemed with his grandma and that's why they were displaying drama. “Clara stop being delusional, and don't think that scheming with my Grandma will get you anywhere, I already told you seven years ago, that we can never be together.” Lucas turned to Emma and he pulled her close, “Emma is my wife, and we are going to be together for a very long time.” Lucas slowly leaned in and whispered into her ear “I’m sorry.” He grabbed her face gently and sealed their lips with a kiss. Why were they kissing? This shouldn't be happening, Emma wanted to squirm, but Lucas’s firm grip held her back in place. What was he trying to prove here? Was it also part of the act? Emma wanted answers so badly. They were both gasping for air as they pulled apart from each other. He slowly released his grip on her and they both turned to their grandma and Clara, but they were already looking at them wide-eyed and their mouths agape. Lucas cast a side glance at Emma, he had only wanted to prove a point to his grandmother and Darcy but strangely he still felt the urge to kiss Emma once more.
