Sara was losing her mind, she was doing her best to be a good mom to her daughter but she was losing it, she felt incompetent, like a failure, she did not know where to begin, during the week Edward had called to speak to Milly, and after telling the situation to her, Milly looked at her mom and ran with tears in her eyes. Sara demanded to know what he told her but she was put off with condescending words, asking her where she was and telling her to come back. He then reminded her that she had nothing and no one and he said he would expose to the press some truths about her nobody knew of and the last of her reputation would be in shambles. Sara was in a state of panic after the call and abruptly blocked his number, he was the father of her child but nothing gave Edward the right to speak to her like she was a child, he was the one in the wrong and she would put him in his place. She found Milly and begged her to come to her, “Sometimes mummies and daddies just don't love each other enough to stay together anymore” “Is it because of me mummy?” Milly asked earnestly, that broke Sara’s heart and she held her to her chest “No my angel it's never your fault, you're our perfect baby, and you always would be, I want you to be happy and find friends around you, mummy and daddy love you very much”. After that incident, she took Milly to the local Sunday school the next morning and although Milly was shy, having always only been by herself, she found herself in the mix with other kids. The teachers said they closed by 5 and she also told Sara that the kids were preparing for a Christmas carol and it'll be sweet for Milly to join them. “I just want her spending time with other kids, it'll be good for her, maybe let her join by herself, I don't want to force any of that on her” The teacher nodded in agreement “Oh I get you, see you by 5”.
Sara would then use the time to drive herself to the cabin and use her time to clean and think. She remembered the first time Edward came to see her parents how long ago was that, so far yet so close, he was perfect and he was everything she wanted, how could he change so drastically, she couldn't help but blame herself. She would take a ride to Joseph’s shop and in an attempt to buy a toy for Milly, Joseph would tell her to take anything Milly would like, that was his niece and pretty much his child too.
Sara needed to do something, she needed to write, to sing, to paint, to cry. But all she did was sink farther into the darkness.
