Chapter Fourteen - Am sorry Mona

It was their second day at Gida countryside but Greg insisted on them fishing with him at dawn. Mona was so happy about it but Daren was reluctant.

"Come on Daren - are you also afraid of the sea?" Greg asked and Mona chuckled, both trying to put up an act to force Daren out to the sea.

"Am not afraid of the sea... Alright, fine"

Greg and Mona shouted excitedly, Daren could not help but smile at them. He's not a stone anyways.

"Have you ever gone for fishing before?" Greg asked Mona as they walked to the shore. Greg was not able to hide his excitement, it was his first time going fishing with some friends after so many years.

"Not really, but I've seen the others do it. I just feel like this is my chance" Mona smiled. "What about you Daren?" Mona asked Daren who was behind them. When she saw he wasn't keeping up, she went back to his side.

"What's wrong? You seriously don't want to go for fishing right?"

"Its none of your business - "

Mona instantly froze, her pride was hurt. Her happiness crashed. She felt like her soul has been crushed.

Ever since they got to Gida, she has been trying her best to make her boss happy seeing he doesn't like the view in the small town, but he keeps on treating her like trash and making her appear unimportant.

The weather was cool but Mona's forehead was covered in sweat after Daren's reply. What does he think of himself? Oh! he's getting his revenge on her for telling him the same words after she became drunk. That was insane! I mean she has already apologized.

Mona ignored him and walked towards Greg, the kind and social one unlike Daren who was bossy, proud, arrogant and anti - social.

"Mona - " Daren called after Mona when he saw she was leaving his side in anger but Mona ignored him and continued to Greg as she began to help him set the boat.

Mona went to the other side to pick the fishing net which was unusually heavy. When she wanted to apply force to pick the net, Daren walked up to her and helped her. Mona was so infuriated that she had to snatch the net away from him.

Daren swallowed hard like his pride was hurting before he spoke up, "am sorry Mona - "

Mona felt the air still and could only hear the beating of her heart. Even the rustling leaves suddenly became silent as if the whole oxygen was being drained from the world.

Mona turned to stare into his eyes, like seriously - boss did you just apologize? Mugeen must hear this and of course Capital Project company should know that their rigid boss apologized to the petite Mona. Unbelievable!

Mona could not help but leave with the net, she was rather confused as to why her boss should be apologizing to her because she was angry. She turned to take few glances at Daren as she was walking to the boat to know if there were any loopholes but there was nothing, all she could see was his sincerity.

Daren seriously apologized to her!
