FATE OF A ONE NIGHT STAND

Chapter Eight : A NEW ALLIANCE

Upon sighting this strange figure, fear gripped them. Few seconds later, everything began to be clear for them. They saw that the figure was holding a long gun, which they later understood to be a sniper. This person was fully armed. Sarah noticed that everywhere around the mansion’s room was very secured, and locked. But I was very excited, to know what the hell was approaching towards them.

Suddenly,Jonathan’s phone rang. He looked at it, and saw that it was one of his chief security officers. He picked his phone, and heard the caller saying

‘’ Leave the room where you are right now. An assassin is parading in the environment. But fear not, we are tracking him down’’.

Jonathan wanted to ask him a question, but he immediately cut the call. Ofcourse, he recognized the person’s voice. He didn’t know why he had to hang up so quickly. On the other hand, Sarah, who heard all that the chief security man had said, was skeptical and scared because of the approaching shadow she was seeing, held Jonathan’s hand, and told him not to step an inch from the room.

While looking at the shadow’s image moving through the wall, they looked around them, checking whether the person was already in one way or the other, very close to them. Suddenly, a terrible gunshot sound was heard. The shadow immediately stopped. Sarah and Jonathan saw how still it stood, without even shaking. Another gunshot sound was heard again. This time around, Jonathan began to hear voices. The voices of his comrades who were protecting the mansion’s territory.

‘’You intruder, I advise you to stand still, by remaining peaceful on the ground where you are’’One of the voices ordered.

Why different voices from high leaders of Jonathan’s comrades were instructing the said assassin, several footsteps were also heard.

But suddenly, like a midst disappearing from its surface, the shadow mysteriously vanished. They noticed this, and became tense.

A phone call from the previous number came once again. Jonathan picked it.

‘’You can come out of your room now sir. The intruder who was on a mission against your household, has mysteriously left the scene’’The officer informed him.

This time around, Jonathan immediately turned on the security television in his bedroom, checking the whole surrounding, in order to confirm whether it was true or not. Truly, he could see all his security men, now parading freely in and outside the mansion. He checked his time, and saw that it was just 6:30pm.

Him and Sarah went out of the bedroom, to discuss with the security officers, who informed them that the attacker is a known assassin, and he is very professional in what he does. They described him as the best and the most sought assassin in the state of California. Thus, any one who must have hired and commissioned him to execute this mission against them, would definitely be a strong and hidden enemy.

Jonathan was speechless. It appeared as if the assassin was less important to him at the moment. His mind was very far away from any one who was currently planning ways of eliminating him. He has something in his mind, to say. But I don't just know how to voice them out. Sarah on the other hand while stirring and reading his mind, held one of his fingers.

‘’You look worried. Let’s find a suitable place to talk’’She said.

Ten minutes later, the both of them could be seen walking out of the mansion. After she previously spoke to him about them finding a convenient place to talk out some important things, Jonathan accepted, and decided to take her out to an amusement park. There, they would voice out their pains.

Upon reaching a certain pack, the both of them found comfort in a locally made hurt. Jonathan paid, for only them in the hurt, due to the value of words he was about to release.

‘’Honestly speaking, I am not happy with the way things are going in my business. As I am talking to you, my businesses would fold out of existence, in a few days time, and I would be left to rot and wallow all alone in poverty, just like every other ordinary man’’He informed her.

She was just listening, and looking at him.

Probably, she knew where he was heading to. She wouldn’t say any further thing that might look implicating or complicating, unless she was sure of herself, considering the fact that she knows what the current tides may look like, for her and him.

‘’Those whom I have made important officials in my empire, have betrayed me. You are very right to say that Kenny was never a good friend to me. That guy only used me to shine. He has gotten what he wanted and as you are looking at me right now, I am the weakest man in the world. I don’t even have the capacity to put him in jail, but he has. If I should try any funny move against him, he would put me behind bars, and that would definitely be the end of me. Do you understand what I am saying?’’Jonathan said, asking.

Sarah was just looking at him in discomfort. She truly feels his pains. But then, she didn’t have the opportunity to deal mercilessly with Kenny and his compatriots.

‘’So, what do you want me to do for you?’’Asked, Sarah.

Jonathan bent his head. His strength melted down like a watery sugar that has passed through the test of fire.

‘’Since you have already known the in and out of Kenny and Sonia, I think you are the right person to be used for the mission, which I have in mind’’Jonathan informed her.

Her heart immediately boiled, reacting to his words. She turned her face, stirring at him.

‘’Are you okay at all?. You were unable to stop Kenny and his compatriots. So, what makes you think I would be the one to do it for you?.Were you not told of how he kicked me out of his house, telling me never to show up anywhere around him again?. However, that might not actually be the point for now. The thing is that, what kind of mission are you talking about here?’’Sarah asked, after highlighting some of her few opinions.

‘I need you to save my empire. I need someone who could help me to protect my late father’s legacy. So many economic analysts and future forecasters have already predicted that my empire will crash. This crash will take place in the next four days. Meanwhile, I have already seen the visible sign. I am surprised that my networth just dropped from me being a multi-billionaire, to an ordinary millionaire. In a few hours from now, the bank and the law courts would force me to forfeit everything I have, and they would be handed over to Kenny and Sophia. So you see the reason why I told you that I can’t do anything against them, right now?’’Jonathan explained to her. He was about to cry.

‘’What exactly do you want me to do for you?’’Sarah asked him in confidence.

‘’Take this little paper. Read the words line by line’’He gave her a paper which he brought out from his pocket, giving it to her. In turn, she collected it, went through it’s words line by line, and shouted in amazement

‘’Wow’’.
