FATE OF A ONE NIGHT STAND

Chapter Nine : MIGHT OF A LEADER

Two days later, every worker in the Jonathan empire was seen lining up. They were waiting for the new general manager because Jonathan has previously informed his staff that he has made someone a manager of his business empire. He did this, after announcing that he had stepped Kenny down from the office of a general manager, which he had been overseeing,even before the assassination of his late father.

To Kenny, Jonathan was wasting his time because nothing and no one, would definitely save him,Since everything he has, would be taken away from him in the next three days.

Sonia, who was never a worker in the company, was even invited by Kenny to witness the ill-hearted transition of power.

As every worker of the company was all lined up, waiting for the new general manager, some fleets of bullet proof cars owned by Jonathan suddenly entered and parked inside the company. Some staff who were secretly in alignment with Kenny and his major compatriots, visibly smiled, after seeing the show of cars that arrived in the vast production company. They thought that Jonathan or one of his family members, would be the one to become the new company’s overseer, not knowing that under their noses, different levels of wars would be launched against them.

Suddenly,Sarah brought out one of her legs from the car where she was. She remained in that position for eight minutes, trying to increase the tension that was already growing in everyone's mind. Ofcourse, everyone was very eager and in fact, desperate to see who it could be. They kept seeing the presence of different security men who were fully armed, and serving as bodyguards to the one who had been given the official mandate to head the empire.

And after the close of eight minutes, Sarah happily stepped out of the car. Many who saw her, quickly went on an adventure of thought because to them, they must have seen her somewhere before, even before now.

Sarah, who was heavily guarded by bodyguards, was escorted towards the direction of the crowd of staff. She was in a suit, and elegantly dressed, which gave her a smart appearance. Kenny and Sonia upon sighting that she was the one, were restless. They thought they were probably seeing a body double of her.But when it finally dawned on them that she was truly the one, they began to sense the birth of a mysterious danger.

Meanwhile, Sarah was now seen, shaking hands with some staff. Especially the management officers. They all posed smiling faces at her, thinking that they could possibly fool her. They never knew that shortly, they would definitely be the one who would be fooled.

As she shaked hands with them, she smiled happily with them, giving them the assurance that she is damn too friendly. She just wanted to give them the impression that she could actually be a dummy who would serve their unethical interests. But as she reached Kenny and Sonia’s presence, she walked away from them, and was hurriedly ushered into the administrative section of the empire.

One hour later, she called for an urgent meeting of all management staff, where she told them to arrange their files, and write out the few things which they have helped the empire to achieve, ever since they took on their official positions. They all felt embarrassed, and not happy with this sudden decision. After all, Jonathan would lose many of his assets including the empire, in a few days or any moment from now. They felt less concerned about it, and carried on with their daily and usual job . However, Sarah has given them six hours from the time she had a meeting with them, to submit their words of achievement to her. Not even Kenny the ex-manager, was exempted.

Notwithstanding, Sarah after getting official power to operate as the new ruler of the empire, didn’t for once, forget the mission that brought her into the empire.

Yesterday while discussing with Jonathan in a certain amusement park, Jonathan, through some written words in a paper, hinted at everything she would do. She was not just here, acting as the empire’s ruler. She accepted the offer, after striking a deal with Jonathan, through a written contract. In this contract, Jonathan would pay her the sum of ten million dollars, if she successfully took back his father’s business empire for him. But before she would proceed with the mission, Jonathan signed the contract with her, for the whooping amount of three hundred thousand dollars, which was immediately deposited into her bank account some hours before her first arrival into the empire.

Sarah accepted the offer, and promised to do something about it. However, it was not just about the money involved, but it was all about her, making Kenny and every other individual who has been working secretly with him on this mission, suffer.

She saw this offer and this mission of hers, as a means of getting back at Kenny. She knows that by now, Kenny must have been stinkingly rich through all his deceitful schemes and plots. She was quite aware that Kenny and Sonia would definitely be the one who would be in charge of Jonathan’s estates and all his late father must have worked for. But she vowed never to allow that to happen. For Sarah, It’s better that the government of California should take the empire, if at all Jonathan didn’t make it up there anymore, than watching the likes of Kenny and Sonia having it.

Also, while Sarah was still seated in her office, she remembered how Jonathan’s two sisters came into the mansion last night, crying. His sisters were in pain, after being informed by the law that none of them would ever have a share ever again from their late father’s wealth. They were very bitter because it all looked like a dream to them. Even in the midst of all these, none of them ever dared to put the blame on Jonathan. They knew that the things happening were much bigger than him. Their misfortunes were linked to a mysterious event that happened when their father was still alive. So, it was never Jonathan’s fault. Just that Jonathan unfortunately, was the one who finally inherited the results of his father’s mistakes.

Thus, with Sarah having all these in mind, she wouldn’t let herself be used to fulfil another ugly and pathetic mission, knowing that her strong and decisive enemies were never far away from their targets and subjects.

After returning to her consciousness, she called for an emergency meeting, where she dissolved all management officers. But this happened, she invited the bank officially that same day, and ordered for the immediate changing of the empire’s signatory. Sarah checked through some previous profiles of the empire, where she saw some lists of young men and women who were excellently working for the empire. But these workers were still in the position of low level rank. So, she appointed them into executive positions. Everything happened within the few hours that she took over the empire’s power.

Everyone in the company was shocked,since such has never happened before in the history of the empire.

All the dethroned executives were beginning to see the appearance of war. They knew that there was fire on the mountain. They began to feel discomfort, and began to re-strategise on what next they would do.

Meanwhile, she sent an official message to all the dethroned management officers, to her office. The moment they were seated in her office, they heard a strict voice from behind them.

‘’You are all under arrest. You have the right to be silent, since whatever you say or act now, would be used against you all, in the court of law’’.

They were surprised, refusing to believe what they just heard.

As they turned their back to see who was speaking, they saw ten armed police men, raising and preparing to use the handcuffs on them.
